On September 27, 2010 at approximately 8:41 pm, Officers of the Salisbury Police received a call to respond to the area of Naylor Street and US Rt. 50 for the report of an assault with a firearm. Upon arrival the officers met with an adult male victim who advised that he had been injured during an attempted robbery on Records St. The victim advised that when he was at the two hundred (200) block of Records Street, waiting for a friend, he was approached by two (2) suspects, each in possession of a handgun.
Suspect # 1 approached the victim and demanded the victim’s money, while suspect # 2 stayed behind suspect # 1, close to the street. The victim grabbed suspect # 1 and struggled with the suspect resulting in suspect # 1 striking the victim in the head area with the handgun. While the victim was struggling with suspect # 1, suspect # 2 fired three shots, one of which struck the victim in a buttock. Both suspects then fled from the area. The victim was transported to the Peninsula Regional Medical Center for treatment which was determined to not be life threatening. This incident is under investigation.
There was no property taken from the victim and the suspects were described as:
Suspect # 1: Caucasian or black male with light complexion, under eighteen (18) years of age, short in height, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt.
Suspect # 2: Black male, taller than suspect # 1

On September 28, 2010 at approximately 12:55 am, Officers of the Salisbury Police received a call to respond to a residence on the six hundred (600) block of Lake Street for the report of shots fired. Upon arrival the officers met with the resident who advised that shots had been fired at their residence resulting in a minor injury to an adult male. The victim had been seated in the den area of the residence and sustained a graze wound to his lower back. Salisbury Emergency Medical Service responded but the victim refused treatment. The SPD officers were able to observe that five (5) gun shots had struck the residence. The resident advised that the occupants of the residence were not aware that shots had been fired until the victim realized that he had been struck and alerted the other residents. There were no other injuries. This incident is under investigation.

On September 28, 2010 at approximately 12:58 am, Officers of the Salisbury Police received a call to respond to a residence on the two hundred (200) block of Records Street for the report of a firearms incident. Upon arrival the officers met with the occupants of the residence who advised the officers that they were inside the residence when they heard several gunshots in close proximity to the residence. The officers checked the residence and found that unknown suspect(s) had shot the residence two (2) times, both shots in the front area. It was later found that a residence close to this residence also sustained gunshot damage. There were no injuries and this incident is under investigation.

On September 28, 2010 at approximately 1:17 am, Officers of the Salisbury Police received a call to respond to a residence on the one thousand (1000) block of Cecil Street for the report of a firearms incident. Upon arrival the officers met with occupants of a residence that had sustained gunshot damage. The residents advised that they had been located in the residence when they heard a vehicle approach followed by a number of gunshots. The officers checked the residence and found that the residence had been struck four (4) times. The residence sustained the damage to the front area. There were no injuries to any of the occupants and this incident is under investigation.

Salisbury is absolutely terrible for such a small town when it comes to crime. And (I hate to admit it) the most violent crimes seem to be coming from my black brothers and sisters. Not to let whites off the hook (plenty of bank robberies and smaller crimes are committed by you).
My thing is that while I have alot of sympathy for a young teen growing up in inner city Baltimore/D.C/Philly, where these kids witness at times absolute horrible conditions (think the movie "Precious" and "Boyz in the Hood"), what the hell are these fools in Salisbury dealing with?
I'll tell you. A pretty decent school system. College and technical education right here in the area (UMES, SU, WorWic). Job opportunities here and abroad if they take advantage of that education. No rampant gangs (I guess until recently), plenty of outdoor clean spaces, plenty of mentor/afterschool programming (especially by the groups associated with UMES ex. Upward Bound), gov. assistance for those who need it. I mean, what's your problem young dummy?
I'm just fed up. Because while so many of us work to save the kids who really need help (think back to the DC kids I mentioned), people use these Salisbury dummies as examples for why we shouldn't try to help the poor or needy, or minority kids for that matter.
People I hope you realize that you have some real hard head dummies in Salis. making us all (especially young blacks) look bad. But, I hope that does not discredit much of the hard work that so many black youths (and all kids from Salis. for that matter) are out here doing everyday. You won't see many in the media because we all know good stories don't sell ads and many of our best and brightest rocket off the Shore as soon as they can. But it is time to clean house on those individuals that refuse to get their stuff together and acknowledge the many individuals who refuse to become a negative statistic.
Sorry for the long rant but I have had ENOUGH.

In the meantime, I wish you would contact one of the two grown ups on city council who are Debbie Campbell and Terry Cohen. and give your thoughts on what to do. They have phone numbers on the city website. That's www.ci.salisbury.md.us. If you look around for a link to council members you'll find them. They are the only two who care.

The mayor's crime package would actually help to reduce crime in her district and save some lives there, but she's in too deep with the landlords to change her stance now. What she's doing is a crime.
Thirty more policemen would not have stopped the shootings last night. Council members wouldn't have stopped them. Better schools wouldn't have stopped them. Taking guns off the street wouldn't have stopped them. The blacks need to clean up their cultural problems to stop what's going on in their neighborhoods.

Salisbury has become so bad..You cant even ride down 13 without seeing these hoodie , jobless , baggy pant fools standing on the streets, acting like animals.. You are afraid to stop and go into a store..If your a woman they look at you like a piece of meat...And believe me Iam not picking on the Balcks....Some of my friends are decent hard working black folks..These blacks are young hodlums that act like they are animals..They have no problem shooting each other to death or anything else..Thats the problem they know if they get caught , they will have T.v , a bed food and cant hang out with their homies for a few years..People iam telling you iam seriously thinking about carrying a gun just to go to the grocery store..Salisbury is not a safe place.. I dont know that we will ever feel safe to live here again.........

But I also see plenty of poor white trash hanging out and about doing the same things you complain of.
