A Letter To The Editor

No boundaries at Boundless!

"Joe,

I am writing this to you because of an incident yesterday that involved my wife and, kids at the boundless playground on church street. This playground is one of the nicest in all of Salisbury since it has been refurbished. My kids go there at least once a week and it is a testament to what we as a city can do. Unfortunately the city is starting to ignore this playground (imagine that) and what is a beautiful place is starting to slip away. My wife arrived there yesterday to find the gate to Rt. 50 has been stolen and, a gentleman urinating in the corner of the playground. Now mind you I don't expect the Salisbury PD. to sit on site but a routine city inspection would be nice that missing gate is a big deal when you have as many kids playing there as their usually are ( a dozen or so at any time after school). I initially shrug this info off and, told my wife not to worry about it to much until she informed me that my youngest daughter had also stepped in what looked like human feces! What is the city coming to....dog, human it doesn't matter can't we as a people respect each other and, why can't the city stop by and check this wonderful place out more often (assuming they do at all!)? Anyway Thanks Joe."

You are absolutely right 9:01. With shoestring budgets and employees demoralized with furlough days, don't expect city services to improve.

Where is the boundless playground on Church St.?

I know there is a nice one next to the Chipman Center and the Additions Counseling place next to it.

Salisbury is a cesspool

Hate to say it but alot of the problem is the neighborhood. There is no self-respect or pride in surroundings which is why most of these areas look trashy again just a day or two after Louise Smiths "cleanups".Someone likely stole the gate for scrap and transients just hang out there because they can.And its not just rental properties per se,but you cant expect people paying a subsidized $50 a month for a home to have any pride in their neighborhoods.

10:02...BOOM! right you are, my man. You could build whatever you want in the ghetto....in short time it will be part of the ghetto. A "gentleman" urinating in the corner of the children's park?? Thats no gentleman...and if I had been there and seen him, I would have made sure he was peeing through a tube attached to his leg for the next few weeks. The gate was stolen?? and no one saw THAT happening? You know why? ITS IN THE GHETTO! And the police are too busy with speed traps to actually patrol the ghetto very often...ain't no m-o-n-e-y there, just crime, and there ain't no m-o-n-e-y in stopping crime, unless of course it's TRAFFIC crime.

Here's an idea don't waste money on bad neighborhoods!

10:02 - I agree completely - It is church street and no amount of cleaning up will keep the human trash element from wrecking the place - beside, what parent in their right mind would take kids there - the place is not even remotley safe (did they notice the addtiction services place two doors up the street?) - The best bet is to take your kids to playground run by the Catholic church in town - safe, clean, quiet and looked after!

You have to make them uncomfortable in their impoverished crime ridden lives that's the only way to change it.
