Wargotz Files For U.S. Senate And Explains Path To Victory

Annapolis, MD (March 25, 2010) – Queen Anne's County Commissioner Eric Wargotz, M.D. made it official Friday when he filed the papers to officially run for the U.S. Senate. Dr. Wargotz has been traveling around the state since last July meeting with voters, discussing issues and taking the State's temperature. "Voters are not just hot around the collar," Wargotz said about the voter sentiment, "they are steamed about the direction Congress is taking our country."

Wargotz filed at the State Board of Elections in Annapolis and then met with legislators and reporters at the State House in Annapolis, followed by radio interviews from Ocean City to Frederick, finishing the day with bloggers and social networking activists.

During the day, Commissioner Wargotz discussed the issues which make up the four cornerstones of his campaign: Fiscal Responsibility and the Economy, Health Care, National Security and the Chesapeake Bay.

Perhaps most importantly, he laid out his path to victory saying, "it is clear that more and more citizens of Maryland want their Senate seat back. For too long, our current Senator has voted lock-step with Senator Harry Reid of Nevada. The Constitution does not give Nevada three Senate seats and Maryland one. In addition, the latest Rasmussen poll has Barbara Mikulski dropping 12 percentage points since her vote for socialized Health Care. A majority of Marylanders are now realizing that, after 30 years in Congress, Barbara Mikulski does not represent the best interests of Maryland."

"Voters are angry and want new representation," Wargtoz said. "Voters want the private sector to create jobs, not the government; voters want health care reform, not a government takeover; voters want a cleaner Chesapeake Bay, not 30 years of lip service; voters want strong national security, not taxpayer funded defense attorneys for captured terrorists," Wargotz continued.

With the health care debate and the national economy focusing attention on federal issues, in addition to our close proximity to Washington, the campaign believes Maryland will have record voter turnout. "If voters turnout as they do in Presidential elections, we win," he said confidently.

Wargotz is the leading challenger opposing Barbara Mikulski. The Wargotz Campaign is led by a veteran Maryland team of advisors and staff as well as a statewide volunteer organization. As of the latest Federal Election Commission reporting deadline, Wargotz held a commanding lead in fundraising among Republican challengers.

Eric Wargotz, M.D., his wife Cheryl-Ann and their three children live in Queen Anne's County. Dr. Wargotz is the elected President of the Queen Anne's County Board of County Commissioners (2006) and practices medicine in Prince George's County.

I'm sick to my stomach, I just caught a soundbite of Obama saying, blah, blah "big step towards Universal Heatlh Care," and a headline on Drudge how Nancy Pelosi believes because of Healthcare, she's found the way to push more reforms thru. These guys need to be removed from office now. I don't know if I can sleep til November. Mr. Wargotz, you better be the real deal. Obama thinks the Democrat party can survive if Republicans run against the bill and promise to repeal. We don't need Republicans to run,per se, but real conservatives. I think it's ironic that Obama was comparing this healthcare bill passage to when Truman succeeded with Medicare, since Medicare is close to 3000% over the cost predictions and is insolvent. His Obamabots don't care though, they believe anything he says. I will not ever vote for another Democrat, that includes Rick Pollitt and the Clerk of the Court, the guy who's been there for a billion years.

Here's a survey question for ya: Ask people, what does it mean to be a republican? AND THEN, What does it mean to be a Democrat?

I guarantee they'll have no answers! Because they have no idea what they stand for anymore, on either side of "the aisle." NONE.

All these idiots care about is the maxim of, let's do everything possible to screw over the opposition party. It's like Hatfields and McCoys in Washington, all feuding over nothin, when everyone is there for the same reason, to run the gubmint.

Wargotz is a true conservative who can get the job done. I can't see how the people of MD will just continue to vote that old bag in after all the corruption and shredding of the Constitution this past year. The leftists have spit upon the American people, called us terrorists, and abandoned American principles. We need someone with the strength and conviction of Eric Wargotz representing MD in the US Senate.

I have met Eric Wargotz, and he is the real deal. Please read his bio and hear him speak before forming judgments about this candidacy. Senator Mikulski has passed her prime, and its time to pass the torch to someone who will truly stand up for Maryland voters.
