Two Years Ago Today
It was two years ago today Code & Compliance opened their doors. To date, Tom Stevenson is still under staffed but you'll never hear that man complain.

They need to start requiring permits for hvac systems to be installed in town. They also need to check to make sure that properly licensed people are actual ON the jobsite. The quality of work being done in the area is terrible and no-one ever seems to care. The state of Maryland has codes they just get ignored alot.
People made out just fine without any code and compliance, government employees. Just another waste of taxpayers money as far as I'm concerned. Everyone talks about less government involment in our lives but then they embrace every new program that comes along. We should all be responsible for our own actions. I don't need an inspector to tell me if I'm getting a good job or not. If I'm happy with the work, that should be all that matters. If the work is faulty than I will accept responsibility. Why does Government feel the need to try and be involved in everyones lives at every level? The Government is broke, fire these people and save the taxpayers some money.
Compliance my A$$, all those fricken people? Neither one of them can see that ratty ass theator? Its the worst its been in since it was built, greeting everyone comeing into Main st Salisbury....THE SHITHOLE...barrie tilghman made us famous for!!!!
carry your wastefull asses down there IMMEDIATLY!!! OR YOUR ALL FIRED!!!
Where was code and compliance when my house was being built? My builder (Jimmy Harris) told me that I had to much time on my hands because I'm a disabled veteran. That's when I started telling him the fifty or so things that he did wrong when building my house. I guess all that attention to detail the navy taught me shouldn't apply to horrible builders.
That department needs to be abolished as it is a total waste of resources and tax dollars. On another note it is much better than that department that is ran by Bill Holland of FOB and Crook fame.
By the way Tom, thanks for reading the blog and making some positive posts. ;-)
Do you think the homeowners like being harassed because there is grass/weeds in the cracks of city owned sidewalks?
What are the code enforcement officers going to do now that it is getting cold and no grass in the sidewalks. I guess they will do what other city employees are doing, spending the day reading Joe's Blog. LMAO
Tall grass has never hurt anyone. If I want tall grass in MY yard, that should be my business, not the governments. Code enforcement is a joke, like most other government entities. Somerset County and especially Crisfield are just as bad as Salisbury.

Tom is a good guy, always has been.

That's because he works at the discretion of the mare and can easily be replaced.
He's no fool, he needs a job!!

If you didn't have code and compliance government employees, who would measure the grass?

Agree, lots to complain about, but Tom Stevenson is a good guy and he cares!
I imagine rental equipment is hurting like every other business trying to hang on right now.
Tom Stevenson is a very reasonable man. I think we're lucky to have him. Low profile but gets the job done. Now that's different!
