As of November 5, 2008, when President Obama is officially elected into office, our company will instill a few new policies which are in keeping with his new, inspiring issues of change and fairness:
1. All salespeople will be pooling their sales commissions into a common pool that will be divided equally between all of you. This will serve to give those of you who are underachieving a "fair shake."
2. All hourly employees will be pooling their wages, including overtime, Into a common pool, dividing it equally amongst yourselves. This will help those who are "too busy for overtime" to reap the rewards from those who have more spare time and can work extra hours.
3. All top management will now be referred to as "the government." We will not participate in this "pooling" experience because the law doesn't apply to us.
4. The "government" will give eloquent speeches to all employees every week, encouraging its workers to continue to work hard "for the good of all."
5. The employees will be thrilled with these new policies because it's "good to spread the wealth." Those of you who have underachieved will finally get an opportunity; those of you who have worked hard and had success will feel more "patriotic." It is a win – win thing.
6. The last few people who were hired should clean out their desks. Don't feel bad though, because President Obama will give you free healthcare, free handouts, free oil for heating your home, free food stamps, and he'll let you stay in your home for as long as you want even if you can't pay your mortgage. If you appeal directly to our democratic congress, you might even get a free flat screen TV and a coupon for free haircuts (shouldn't all Americans be entitled to nice looking hair?) !!!

As an independent, I oppose Obama's redistribute the wealth plans. But I also have a problem with acting like everything rich people have has come from hard work and no governmental help. Many laws, including allowing credit card companies to charge ridiculously high interest rates and raise all of a consumer's credit card rates if even one payment to only one company is late, help the rich. Add tax breaks for the wealthy, reduction of inheritance taxes, non-compete contracts for Halliburton and Blackwater resulting in billions upon billions for these friends of Cheney, "subsidies" to large insurance and drug companies, etc., and one is left with the clear conclusion that either the rich or the poor will be helped by government. It is not that one party gives away tax money and the other doesn't; the difference is who's getting favored by the laws.
Allowing credit card companies to charge ridiculously high rates? Did you not read the terms and conditions before you signed the agreement? If you don't like the rates and the conditions under which they can be increased, don't get the card.
Can you give me an example of a tax break that only benefits the "wealthy"? No sarcasm intented. I just can't think of one.
There shouldn't be an inheritance tax. Tax was paid on it while it was earned. Why should the govt. benefit from someones death?
I agree - no susidies for anyone - rich or poor. It isn't the job of govt. to bail anyone out. All contracts with the govt. should be open to public bid.
I understand what your saying about the parties but you have to admit that it has historically been the case that the Dem party is notorious for taxing and giving the most. Like Reagan said of the Dem party years ago....."if it moves tax it, if it keeps moving regulate it, it if stops moving subsidize it."

As Grand dad said, it isn't that only the wealthiest have benefitted from tax cuts, it's just that they have benefitted much more than the rest of us. While taxes have declined in almost all income brackets, taxes on the wealthiest Americans (those making over $182,500) have declined by about 19% during the Bush administration and taxes on the middle class have declined by about 4%. This is according to the Congressional Budget Office.
I like the "if it keeps moving, regulate it" part of the Reagan quote. Thank goodness we've deregulated utility companies so we can all benefit from the wisdom of that move. No gouging of the consumer, no scandals like Enron or anything--big business always acts fairly and responsibly when unregulated.
Obama plans to raise taxes to pay for illegal aliens health benefits and college education. Barney Frank announced a 25% cut in spending for military weapons. We are fast on our way to becoming a weak country, get ready for Sharia law. How did someone like Barney Frank get in office??

Sounds like the "Borg" from Star Trek, that must be where he got his ideas from as a kid watching Star Trek. We are all part of the "Collective" We have no thoughts of our own, and we work towards one thing..

Everyone blames Bush for everything that has gone wrong in this country. but what about when Clinton inacted all the things things that have taken effect on the American people when he left office and while Bush was just getting in office. All the Dems want to put bush and the Rep. in a bad spot light all the time but they are the ones running things so to say. If Obama gets elected then it will be all about what the dems want and they will have all the power to do what they want. Then where will the checks and balances be?
Blah blah blah. I don't care who says what.
