Federal authorities have charged 90 people, nabbed 51 guns and seized $1 million as well as huge amounts of illegal drugs as a result of drug raids in Baltimore.
Baltimore’s U.S. District Attorney announced the news of the July operations early Saturday morning. The raids were the result of law enforcement cooperation between federal, state and municipal authorities, Fox News reported.
Along with the guns and cash, police found large supplies of illegal drugs like fentanyl, heroin, cocaine and marijuana.
“Reducing violent crime in Baltimore is job one. It’s what we in law enforcement think about morning, noon, and night,” U.S. Attorney Robert K. Hur said in a statement, according to Fox News. “We will continue to do everything we can to prosecute the violent criminals who wreak havoc in and terrorize Baltimore’s neighborhoods”

At the charming Hudson train station in New York, volunteers sell small cups of coffee for $1. The idea is to raise money for the children’s charity in town. They only accept cash. Not everyone carries cash.
I left the conversation there, but what you have here speaks to a universal truth: helping people is not always an unmitigated good thing. Often help is great but just as often it’s not. Sometimes you have to withdraw that help in order to inspire people to do the right thing. Incentives matter. Set them up incorrectly, and your attempts to help people can actually hurt them — and you! — in the long run.

Supreme Court May Hear Case That Could Leave The 2A In Disarray
North Carolina-based Remington Arms has asked the Supreme Court to decide, once and for all, if gun manufacturers should be held responsible for crimes committed with their product. Remington has been in a drawn out legal battle with a survivor and families of the Sandy Hook shooting that took place in Sandy Hook, Connecticut in 2012. The gunman used a Bushmaster XM15-E2S, commonly referred to as an AR-15, to carry out his attack that left 26 dead, including 20 children and seven adults. One of the victims was his mother.
The request comes after the Connecticut Supreme Court ruled 4-3 that Remington, Busmaster's parent company, could be sued on state law because of how the rifle was marketed to the public, the Associated Press reported. A lower court judge had originally threw the case out, saying Remington was protected under the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act, which protects firearms manufacturers and dealers from being held liable when a person commits a crime with one of their products.
"The Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act was passed with bipartisan support in order rightfully assign responsibility and accountability to those who commit crimes," the National Shooting Sports Foundation's Director of Public Affairs, Mark Oliva, told Townhall. Two planes intercepted over Trump golf course in New Jersey
Two single-engine airplanes were intercepted by F-16 fighter jets in separate instances on Friday evening as they entered temporarily restricted airspace over President Trump's Bedminster, New Jersey, golf resort.
The president was vacationing at the resort at the time that the planes ceased communicating with air traffic control and flew into the no-fly zone.
The unrelated incidents occurred first at 7:30 p.m., then at 8 p.m. on Friday, triggering a response from the North American Aerospace Defense Command. NORAD dispatched F-16 fighter jets to intercept the small aircraft. Both planes reestablished communication with air traffic control shortly thereafter with no further incident.

Liberal billionaire George Soros poured $5.1 million into a new political action committee that was quietly established earlier this year for the 2020 election cycle, filings show.
In early January, a statement of organization was filed to the Federal Election Commission to establish the Democracy PAC. The filing for the PAC listed Michael Vachon, Soros's spokesperson, as the PAC's treasurer.
Now, new semi-annual filings reveal that the financier pushed $100,000 into the Democracy PAC on Feb. 13 and $5,000,000 more into the committee on June 2. Soros is the only donor to the PAC as of June 30. During the first half of the year, the Democracy PAC disbursed $6,620.17 to the Perkins Coie law firm and $600 to NGP Van, a voter database and consulting company.

A New York City store owner told police that a ‘pack of teens’ viciously attacked him on Monday night for wearing a “MAGA” hat.

Colorado Poised to Hold Statewide Referendum on National Popular Vote
A group hoping to overturn the Colorado legislature's decision to join the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact says it has turned in 227,198 petition signatures Thursday in its attempt to force a statewide referendum vote in 2020.
Organizers for Coloradans Vote will need about 125,000 of those signatures to pass muster with the secretary of state's office to qualify for the ballot in November of next year.
"We are humbled by the remarkable support we have received from people across Colorado," said Mesa County Commissioner Rose Pugliese, one of the lead organizers. "Over 2,200 volunteers carried petitions to protect Colorado’s vote for President. This groundswell of grassroots support is not only remarkable—it's historic. In a letter sent Friday, Florida's attorney general asked the state's supreme court to block a proposed ban on so-called "assault weapons" because she believes it is misleading and unclear.
Ashley Moody (R.) said the measure would have a wider impact than suggested by the title and summary activists hope to present to voters in 2020. In her letter to the court, she said the proposed language of the ballot issue would ban far more firearms than the summary implies.
"The ballot title and summary do not inform Florida's electorate that, by defining ‘assault weapons' as ‘any semiautomatic rifle or shotgun capable of holding more than ten (10) rounds of ammunition . . . in a fixed or detachable magazine,' the amendment would ban the possession of virtually every semi-automatic long-gun," Moody said in the letter. "To be included on the ballot, the sprawling practical effect of the amendment must be revealed in the ballot language. Because that effect is not revealed, the ballot language is deficient."

Last weekend, the president got bored and decided to see if he could make Democrats defend one of the most dangerous, mismanaged places in the country. And of course, he could. It wasn't hard. He just sent a flurry of tweets criticizing the city of Baltimore and Rep. Elijah Cummings. President Donald Trump called Baltimore a "disgusting, rat and rodent invested" hellhole, a "corrupt mess" that "no human being" would want to live in. A lot of people who've never been to Baltimore claimed to be deeply offended by those remarks. One person who seemed to agree with them was former Baltimore Mayor Catherine Pugh. Just last year, she said things were so bad you could "smell the rotting rats."
The mayor did not explain why she hadn't cleaned things up. That footage of her remarks got almost no attention when it ran on a local news station. Neither did the recent story about Baltimore's deputy policy commissioner getting robbed at gunpoint by four thugs while out to dinner with his wife. Hepatitis A crises declared in Florida and Philadelphia as rates soar nationwide
Both the city of Philadelphia and the state of Florida today declared hepatitis A crises as rates of the virus soar.
In Philadelphia, 154 cases have been reported this year, up from just six in 2018.
The rate in Florida has quadrupled, up to 2,034 in the past eight months alone, from 548 in the entirety of last year.
Rates are also high in other states, including Kentucky, with 4,793 this year so far; Ohio with 3,220; West Virginia with 2,528; and Tennessee with 2,022.

Between 15 and 20 people shot at El Paso Walmart, suspected gunman in custody, Texas Lt. Gov. says
Between 15 and 20 people were shot at a Walmart in El Paso, Texas Saturday morning, Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick told Fox News.
Patrick added that a 21-year-old man had been taken into custody. Police had previously said they had received numerous reports of "multiple shooters."
The lieutenant governor did not say how many of the injuries were fatal.
Police responded to reports of an active shooting at the Cielo Vista Mall area shortly before 11 a.m. and asked people to stay clear of the active scene. An El Paso police spokesman told reporters shortly before 1 p.m. that there was no longer an "imminent threat" to the area.
