A Viewer Writes: Could This Be True?

It is rumored that Worcester Preparatory School received PPP funds from a local bank.

So many local businesses did not qualify or get anything. Yet, they pay taxes.

WPS is a non profit 501 c(3) sitting on millions

I would think that a private school in which folks had already paid their tuition in full for the year and whose expenses have to be lessened (less heating/air conditioning/cleaning/toilet paper/electricity/water etc etc) would not be in need of such funds. How did they justify the request?

Not aware of this, but sounds about right considering other things that go on.

Ocean Pines, which at the end of the day is an HOA, was one of the first in the area to get PPP. Anything is possible I guess.

Good for them! Money is still available in the second round go and get it!! Great program that Donald Trump and his team deserve all the credit they can get for it! It saved a tremendous amount of companies!

Because of the economy, many of their families may not be able to afford to return to school. Im sure income will be down significantly. This will help keep the best private school on the lower shore open.

Good question... All private schools in this area are still demanding full tuition monthly (Salisbury christian, Salisbury school) they are literally making money by being closed, and providing very little education at this point...most students are teaching themselves. At my daughters school, SCS the teachers only meeting with the students vis zoom once a week for maybe 15-30 min, the rest of the tome they self educate using parents, videos and their text books..yet full tuition is still being paid! It will be interesting to see the effects on the private schools when parents realize that many of these kids can teach themselves

Sadly it never will. The complete World works like this, and always has. It will not change in our lifetime.
