Republican Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan predicted Tuesday President Trump may struggle to win re-election in 2020.
"The issue I'm concerned about is he has a very low re-elect number, I think in the 30s, high 30s, low 40s. So the chance of him losing a general election are pretty good. I'm not saying he couldn't win but he's pretty weak in the general election," Hogan told CBS News in an interview set to air in full Wednesday.
"At some point if he weakens further, Republicans would say we're concerned about whether or not he's going to win if we're going to face a very far-left Democratic nominee, and is he going to take the rest of us down with him if you're an elected official," he said.

Larry's main task is eliciting some cooperation from the SocialistDemocrats in the legislature of the Peoples Republic of MD. So dissembling with info that warms their hearts is not a bad strategy.
He has no control over the president and only moderate influence on the legislature. So let the comment slide in hopes he can help staunch the runaway legislature. Properly done, Mr. Rutherford can run to succeed him.

I happily voted for Gov. Hogan twice for the simple reason that on his worst day he was better than Anthony Brown or Ben Jealous on their best day.
I also happily voted for President Trump. Under no circumstance would I consider voting for the governor over the president down the road.
If the governor wants to continue in an elective office, at the federal level, he should run for the Senate. Might have a shot at winning, and could occasionally be useful in DC.

Calling him a rino is putting it politely. Truth is he's a cheap communist and traitor to md citizens and the US. He violated his Oath multiple times,he has joined arms in lock step with some of DC's most notorious violators. One of the more offensive was the red flag bill. He lied to our reps to get this unconstitutional law enacted, in violates the due process laws of the md constitution and the COTUS. Following the written plans and process of known communist is in fact a treasonous act. For far to long its been somehow acceptable to violate the BOR of law abiding citizens to gain political favor...he violates the COTUS so he can have it on his job resume. Transparency and prosecution is the only thing that will save the rule of law.
