Democratic Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee of Texas introduced legislation forbidding construction of a wall on the U.S.-Mexico border — unless Mexico pays for it.
Lee introduced the Protect American Taxpayers and Secure Border Act into the House on Dec. 19, which would “prohibit taxpayer funds from being used to build a wall between Mexico and the United States,” and further require that any barrier constructed on the southern border “be paid for using funds provided by the Government of Mexico.”
She referred the bill to the House Committee on the Judiciary and the Committee on Homeland Security, and already has four cosponsors: Democratic Reps. Karen Bass of California, Marcia Fudge of Ohio, Joaquin Castro of Texas and Yvette Clarke of New York.
The Texas congresswoman has remained largely silent on the proposed legislation, as have the bill’s other sponsors.

Trump can have his wall, and the legislature will approve it and give him the bill he wants as long as it conforms to his campaign promises.

It is a sham to make them look good. That they are doing something to protect us by the title of the bill. Eliminate waste and the wall could be paid for. Then negotiate trade with Mexico which Trump has been working on and the money will come in to pay for the wall.
Because she is so worried about how our tax dollars are being spent🤦♀️
so what they will do is let Mexico pay to build the wall through funds that we give Mexico....so in the long run the US tax payers will still pay for the wall...They save face by not letting Trump get his wall in hope that it causes Trump to lose re-election because many Trump supporters want that wall and he ran on getting that wall built but in the scheme of things the US tax payers still pay for it and Trump gets his wall that Mexico supposedly pays for....They are going around the ball park when they can just cut across the field. All to save face....and make Trump look bad. Not gonna work...Trump will still get re-elected despite of their hinderence.....even if the wall does not get built. Most Trump supporters will look at things that the Democrats and Rinos were the ones to stop that wall being built and again they will lose the house in 2 years.
