Yes it could/would flood but not at the level it did if the waterways were clear of debris. They trimmed and left all the debris laying in the water. Branches, saplings. brush. Are you really that stupid to not realize if the flow is inhibited the water backs up and floods higher?
When Grants flooded on Rt13 the big argument/blame game came about that the ducts were not cleared as they should have been causing higher flooding.
Friday night I was walking by the zoo right at dark. The whole zoo is flooded with moving water. It was pitch black and there was no staff there. All I could hear was water and animals howling and crying out in distress. It’s a terrible situation and no one is doing anything.
The city needs to address the flooding issue there . I mean I know it will happen with river being there but what about the animals we lost prairie dogs as rabbits before I think alma or two they should have a plan.

Maybe if the cleaned up all the debris from their horrible "trim" job of the banks and trees it would not be so bad.
It would be like this no matter what.
Hopefully it will act like a good enema for the park and get rid of the crap!!
Filthy ass river needs a good flushing out.
The geese like it.
9:19 AM not entirely true.

The park was actually a river years ago. Then a dam was built. River gets revenge once in a while.
Wonder how many animals were floating in water this morning at the zoo.
