ROUTE 589 ROAD CLOSURE SET FOR OCT. 8

A road closure is scheduled Monday, Oct. 8 along Route 589 at Turville Creek, just south of Gum Point Road in Ocean Pines. Crews with the Maryland State Highway Administration (SHA) will work to complete “significant slope repair, which will require a complete closure and detour of Route 589 for up to eight weeks,” according to SHA District Community Liaison Bob Rager.

Signage will direct motorists to use routes 50, 113 and 90. Access to businesses within the project area will be maintained during construction, but delays should be expected.

For more information and updates, contact Denise Sawyer, director of marketing and public relations for the Ocean Pines Association, at (410) 641-7717 ext. 3006 or dsawyer@oceanpines.org.
