Can Marijuana Be The Answer For Pain?

Like many of her friends, Alexandra Callner, now 58, experimented with recreational marijuana when she was younger.

"I had tried it, and hated it, in my 20s," Callner says. "When I was around pot smokers, I thought, 'Ugh, losers.' ''

But, that was before her knee arthritisbecame so bad, it robbed her sleep, night after night. She took two over-the-counter pain pills a day, but the pain would wake her up at night. And the drugs were hard on her stomach.

"It was making me kind of nauseous," she says of the nonsteroidal anti-inflammatories. Plus, she needed to stay active to manage her dog boarding service in Pasadena, CA.

Then came another solution. "A neighbor said, 'Try this,' " Callner says. It was a joint.

yes, but as long as politicians of both parties get money from pharmaceuticals, pot will never be legal. They don't like competition.

I’ve tried it and unfortunately it did not help, but it does help others so why not let them it’s better than the pills.

Going down the same path for major spine injury. Thanks to all the morons out here proper pain management is an ordeal, and the medical marijuana card and product is highway robbery right now. Also ALL medicinal Cannibas products are out of pocket where my prescriptions cost me a copay of $1.20/month. It sucks trying to do the right thing in this country

Some use(d) it to wean themselves off opioids like oxycontin when the side effects of the prescribed pain relievers were worse than the good effects.

never work. Body craves it because the central nervous system believes it needs it. Oxy taking at lower doses gradually over the course of several months.

I don't think it does a thing but if someone sick gets relief let them have it ...Has to be safer than pills.

Smoke the weed and lose your guns. They will eventually cross reference medical weed cards and gun ownership records.

Like all products, if one uses too much of it, it will no longer work.
