So, what's your point. It will probably be picked up by a farmer so he can feed his hogs. Still trying to be a shock jock I see.

Off to the hog farm. Good job with responsible food waste disposal.

Ok? Looks like it's waiting for pickup by Valley Proteins for incorporation into animal feed.

Prepared food can only stay in the warmer for a specified amount of time - 2 hours maybe. After that it has to be thrown out. So they are following protocol and this is from the deli and prepared food section.

that is why you always check the timestamp on your chicken at sams club. the labels are stamped. After 3 hours have passed, don't buy it.

its old food thrown away?

I get that this may be protocol, but you've got to wonder just how much is wasted each day and what the cost is to the consumer.

We are paying for this whether or not we buy it with increased prices.

This really is shameful. They should be looking at the way they make and sell food that allows so much waste.

The great depression wasn't a lack of food problem it was a money problem and each time you see this you should really sit down and think about greed and hunger.

Because without greed, there would be no hunger

Walmart does not give it away for any purpose...not for the hungry, homeless or hogs. They simply throw it away

Good scrapple in a few months

Very sad people Are starving. I do what I can but when I see this it's disturbing. No win situation.

There are legal issues involved. Same way at RoFo.

10:21 - wrong, if they just threw it away it would be in a dumpster. If it were safe for human consumption they'd donate it (i'm sure you can call the store and they'd tell you which charities they donate too)

This looks like food that has sat too long and just not safe to give to people, so it's going for animal feed.

Believe me, Valley Proteins pays per pound for proteins/fats, so they certainly aren't going to throw it away where they'd have to pay to dispose of it!

Was recently driving behind Sam's Club in Salisbury and witnessed a manager overseeing several employees dumping lots of produce... bags of potatoes onions, apples, plastic cartons of fruit Exedra yeah there may have been a few bad ones in there but I doubt the entire bag was rotten and unusable into the dumpster it went. Disgustingly wasteful

So who doesn't have left over food in their house and needs to discard it several times a week? Good grief...

What a horrible waste. I know some chickens who would love that.

When I was in high school in the late 1970's in Pocomoke we used to scrape our trays off into two larger holes where a couple of 55 gal. trash cans sat underneath. Then before we left the cafeteria a green 4 door car would back up to the outside doors to the kitchen area and this woman would manhandle each of those trash cans and dump the scraps into the trunk. We all knew the family and we were told she was picking those scraps up for her hogs. Willis Redden would crack up laughing at her.

5:40 PM I dont understand your story. So was she feeding her hogs? Not sure why anyone found it funny. Rather ingenious of her. Free food for hogs and no waste. Smart lady.

Who cares that's what they are supposed to do. You want to buy or eat bad food?
