PG County police officer shot and killed

A Maryland police officer died Wednesday after being shot in Brandywine, Md. A suspect was also killed following the incident.

The Prince George's County officer was not immediately identified, FOX 5 DC reported. The officer was shot and killed after trying to intervene in a domestic violence dispute. It was not immediately clear if the officer was on duty at the time of the incident.

The suspect was reportedly shot and killed by officers after he/she led police on a chase, FOX 5 DC reported.

If the citizens had guns the aggressor could have been removed from the situation by the victim and the officer would still be here with family.
