Ridgely man volunteers to return abandoned dog to Kansas home

RIDGELY — One lucky dog is on his way home, after he recently was found abandoned in Caroline County, hundreds of miles from his worried owner in Wichita, Kan.

Zimba, an 8-year-old pitbull mix, was on track to get home sometime Wednesday, Dec. 6, thanks to a microchip that identified his owner and a Ridgely resident who volunteered to make the 1,300-mile drive.

Caroline County Animal Control Officer Kaitlyn Noffsinger said she got a call Saturday, Nov. 25, about a wandering dog. When she brought him to the Caroline County Humane Society, they found a microchip, which identified his owner as Ikea Mosley of Wichita.
