HOUSE PASSES TAX BILL

The House on Tuesday approved the most sweeping tax overhaul in decades, voting along party lines to enact deep and permanent tax cuts for corporations and temporary cuts for individuals. The vote puts Republicans one Senate vote and one presidential signature away from their first significant legislative achievement.

The Senate is expected to approve the $1.5 trillion tax bill on Tuesday night or Wednesday, clearing the way for President Trump to sign it into law by Christmas.

House Speaker Paul D. Ryan of Wisconsin, speaking on the House floor, called the vote “a turning point” saying “this is our chance, this is our moment.”

Passage of the bill came over the strenuous objections of Democrats in both the House and the Senate, who have accused Republicans of giving a gift to corporations and the wealthy and driving up the federal debt in the process. The final vote tally can be found here.

Twelve House Republicans also voted no on the bill, including lawmakers from high-tax states like New York, New Jersey and California.

This is historic and has the potential to make our country grow like it did in the Reagan years. You know the dem's will try to derail this the same way the republicans tried on Obamacare. Time will tell. But, companies across the country are about to get a 14% tax reduction. What they do with those savings can't be determined, but one can guess that a large percentage will go to hiring, capital improvements, and hopefully, wages. I just wish that they had put a provision in there that I can't go to increased dividends to shareholders.

Is anyone dead yet? Thought with it passing in the House someone would die and the Democrats would claim their death was as a result.

Let me know when someone dies Okay?

So all Democ-rats from Maryland and Delaware voted Against the Tax Cuts. Aren't they suppose to represent their constituents? Why wouldnt't they want for the hard working citizens to have more money? Because that means less money for them, the Crooked Democ-rats. Vote those Slimy Snakes Out!

3:26 PM I doubt hardly you even read 2 sentences of the tax bill, and had you, you would know that anything the govt tells you is good for you, or will help you, is surely a lie and will harm you or hurt you in some way... You will see, I guess the hard way like everyone else...

I get that you all want or need or have hope that this country can be fixed, I like that, I want it fixed too, but reality suggests otherwise and well if you think for one second that we can fix this country by politicians then you are completely stupid as I thought!!!!
