A Comment Worthy Of A Post 12-6-17

Interesting, so Dealers just sold the Truitt st building to Devreco, now the City is paying for the lease and upgrades, how convenient. I was wondering why I saw Day on this side of town at that building a month or two ago, this explains it. Don't get me started on the whole Choices Academy fiasco. Dig into that cesspool drain on city taxpayers. So glad I can now gladly say I no longer own property in the City of Salisbury.

Day owns part of devreco . This now makes total sense. All devreco deals should be looked at. Talk about the wolf guarding the hen house.

I'm so sick of reading about the corruption in Salisbury. It NEVER ends! If the voters in Salisbury are so stupid that they elect these people, they deserve what they get. Culver just needs to protect those of us in the county from this crap.

The whole reason the Calloway st location for the Choices Academy was "picked" by the BOE & City was due to the existing location for the kids to play afterwards right across the street. I have yet to see how much the BOE paid for that property that is now is not as useful. Didn't anyone check into the insurance requirements before purchasing that property? Now we come to find out the Insurance would not allow the kids to pay in that building that they have been playing in for years and now it is torn down and turned into a parking lot on taxpayers dime, how convenient for that church, they seem to be the only ones making out in this deal.

Now we have a building that has $100,000 being put into it down the street on Truitt st and free rent for a year on the taxpayers dime. This is to supplement the building that was torn down on Calloway st. Will insurance cover this building? Seems to me the insurance deal was an excuse to get this building that has been for sale for a long time, it was used by dealers building supply as a warehouse, before that I think it was Cloverland that owned it. Hope that site does not have contaminated soil like downtown since it was industrial at one time. I saw Day and Mr. Mitchell at this location a few months back scouting it out while it was still for sale under Long & Foster, Choices was still being built, how long ago did they find out about the Insurance not covering the Calloway St building? I bet it was before they closed on the Calloway st property and they still did it anyway knowing they would have to tear it down.

So many red flags about this whole deal.

Ok, so this building, according to people I know over there, where I worked, has been sold, and will be used as a Youth center, with free rent being given in the beginning by the city to the buyer.. Last thing they need there is a place for people to gather. The murders on Baker St, constant vandalism on Benny Street and others. Fights with the kids walking home from the high schools each day almost, This will be a disaster for business in that area. So glad I do not go in that area any longer.

There is 2 parcels listed under 507 Calloway st, not sure if this is for both the gymnasium building and the land across the street or per piece but both list as being sold at the same time for the same amount to the BOE.

Lets get one thing straight here. Dealers sold the property in a legit straight up sale regardless who was purchasing it. Dealers is NOT closing! They have been around many years, with many loyal customers, and contributions to the community.

Nothing here out of place. Legal sale regardless of what spin someone tries to put on it.

I remember playing as a kid and not needing any money from the city to do it.

That might be a legal sale but Day's ownership in Deverco is suspect given that Palmer Gillis gets the sweetest deals on buildings downtown along with several kickbacks like the city pitching in money on these 'construction deals'. This has all the earmarks of conflicts of interest for Day. Maybe it's time he steps down before someone criminally charges him. Think I'm kidding, we'll see what goes down.
