CLMB donates to shelter

Members of the Somerset County Local Management Board, Inc., a nonprofit organization that supports programs for children and families, on Sept. 22 presented a $5,000 grant to the Somerset Committee for the Homeless, Inc. The grant will help support operations of the Lower Shore Shelter, a new 16-bed homeless shelter opening next month in Princess Anne. The shelter will serve individuals and families, and will be open and staffed 24 hours. On hand for the check presentation were (from left) SCLMB Karen Brimer, SCLMB chairman; Kelly Hawkins, SCLMB vice chairman; Brandi Horner, chairman of the Somerset County Board on Homelessness; James Porter, chairman of the Somerset Committee for the Homeless, Inc.; Dick Scott, vice chairman of Somerset Committee for the Homeless, Inc.; Sheila Warner, SCLMB treasurer; and SCLMB board members Garland Hayward, Claudia Nelson, and Lt. I don't know this man you speak of and never seen him before. Looks like a pleasant person with a nice smile. I don't know the above person(s) making comments, but I do know they are cold and I don't want to know them. What someone does or eats is none of your business. Some have health reasons for their weight and I would bet the above subjects making comments have more issues than be ignorant.
