Go pull down a statue of MLK and see if its about race.....
Pulling down a statue is not a protest, its destruction of public property, pure and simple. It is against the law, and should be prosecuted. But that's not going to happen.
It is on video and the persons committing the CRIME are easily identified....
Maybe some good ole boys will track them down and educate them.
here's the thing...we like to kid ourselves that tearing down these statutes (or getting rid of that plaque downtown) will somehow act like a "release valve". But it won't. Think about your own life. If your boss is a jerk, you may think that daydreaming of punching him in the face somehow is blowing off steam. But what you are really doing is amping yourself up to do it- which is probably not a good thing to do. What I fear is that these kids, having given into their rage, will now need to seek out more place to vent rage.

Its not about a statue, its about ignorance of what the Confederacy stood for and an attempt of an excuse to complain and throw blame. Put an end to the racial excuse to break the law and offend others...before the violence turns on you.

As a black woman im disgusted. Making a mockery of what that black fist stood for me and my ancestors. It was meant to represent pride and solidarity. This is isnt pride & It darn sure wasnt good sense tearing down a statue that serves as a story and lesson to even their kids, nevertheless in a park they probably dnt even patronize. These young kids get on my nerves. They should be punished. Should been somewhere making sure parks in their neighborhoods get a statue.
next time, I hope the statue lands on them.

They're thugs and criminals and are doing molicioaus destruction of property, which in this case, since it's over the dollar limit, happens to be a felony.
