When a bald eagle was brought to a wildlife rehabilitation center late last month, he was paralyzed and couldn't even hold his head up.
People had to carry the motionless bird. His head rested on his wing. Rescuers rushed to cleanse his blood of the poison that was slowly strangling the life out of him.
This happens to bald eagles all the time. And Lynn Tompkins, executive director of Blue Mountain Wildlife Rehabilitation and Education Center in Oregon, has been trying to save them for 30 years.
"His head was upside down when we got him," Tompkins told The Dodo. "Lead affects the nerves, so that's your brain, your use of muscles, all parts of the body. The birds often cannot stand … They usually have difficulty breathing. They cannot even open their beaks."

Well don't expect any help from the EPA. It's pretty much going to be de-funded. Another few years and our proud national bird will be back on the endangered species list. But really. Who cares except a bunch of liberal know nothings.
This doesnt pass the smell test. I highly doubt that its from lead bullets as they claim. More likely its from chemical poisons that are sprayed on fields.
I guess its lead poisoning that is decimating the bee population too.
100 quit being an insufferable twit. The EPA doesn't deal with this issue, the National Wildlife and Fishery division does. Second, the EPA has been let to run unfettered since its creation by RIchard Nixon A REPUBLICAN in the 70s. The problem with the agency is they go unchecked and a lot of the regulations are based on JUNK SCIENCE not REAL scientific FACT. Third, your liberal goddamn wind farms for "green" energy have been killing birds for over a decade but you don't make some quippy dipshit remarks about that, do you? Quit being a snarky bugger. Why not just eliminate lead ammo altogether? What harm would that do?
1:12pm First, show me what harm lead bullets do. Then we can talk about how to properly address the issue. If there is science behind this than lets see it. Lead ammo has been in use forever. I do not buy this narrative and the source of the article is not one that I have ever heard of or read. Stop believing everything you read.

If youd finish reading the story you'll see they just imply its lead ammo, which is nearly non existent now adays. They said they had 3 eagles this YEAR with high level lead toxins....you are away they prefer fish right? Thats why no other animals have this problem....and EVER animal on earth including humans...all have ever element and mineral from the earth in their bodies. The water in that area has toxins spilled by the government...the epa...remember now?
Somebody is purposely poisoning these birds en masse. You can't get that big of a pile of dead eagles any other way. If they did die of lead shot, it was traveling at 1200 fps out of gun barrels. This story is the purest form of propaganda ever concocted!
Eagles dying from lead shot is highly unlikely not to say that it can not happen buts it more likely high levels in the fish they have eaten or the poison that was put in the carcass set out for them to eat. Whatever was done it was done on purpose and not with lead ammo

The birds are just dying because they want to, they have lost the will to live in today's America.
This is not the country that their great bird ancestors were proud to represent with power and might for what is right, and pleasing to God.
Now our country panders to Muslims, Liberals, Queers, Freaks, Illegals, Criminal Refugees, the list goes on and on.
Our new president recognized how bad American is, and is trying to save it, but he is being fought at every turn!
Any wonder the symbol of our once great country wants to die.
