A Viewer Writes: WCBOE BMS Attack

Maybe someone needs to investigate the attack on a student in the bathroom of Bennett Middle I was just made aware of today (don't know the exact date). The victim has permanent eye damage and other severe injuries. The 3 attackers were minorities who only got 1 day of suspension because the school system doesn't want to lose federal funding because of minority discipline. Why weren't they charged criminally? Why wasn't this on the news? In light of the settlement reached today between the WCBOE and Dept of Justice, it sounds like a cover up.

Hope you investigate and show how victims, especially non-minority, are further victimized all in the name of pandering.

You know why they were not charged!!!!! Cover ups cover ups cover ups!!! But that's OK some are talking bringing a law suit against the board for hostile work and learning environment. Before this is over the board will be in more HOT WATER with the tax payer then the liberal DOJ! Why the board continues to support these ANIMALS is beyond me.

Could you report on this settlement? The daily times failed to provide how it was settled, who speaks for the county? Did the county put up any fight, have the settlement reviewed by an attorney etc. this was kept very quiet and I want more info. The MSM left me wanting more???? How do things like this get settled that affect us all without a public hearing or input??? Is Bob Culver involved. Not blaming just want more info???? Thanks!

10:02, How many times do I have to tell you people, Bob Culver has NO SAY over the Board of Education outside of giving them money from the county budget. Bark up another tree by contacting the BOE.

10:27 I know what happens. You go to jail, if you attempt to hurt or touch a minor .

The Administration there is all women except the Dean of students. Can't do a lot. The woman mainly stay in the offices. Same problem at parkside, Mrs pinhey is no where to be found and including Mrs. DJ. County should invest on have one toilet bathrooms because that's where a lot of fights starts or where they hang out in the bathroom for skipping class

In 53 years since civil rights act was passed, look how far they have come. Great, huh.

I use to be a teacher in Wicomico County. I feel sorry for my friends that still teach there. The schools in Salisbury are becoming like Baltimore City schools. The problem is every county is bullied by the state and federal government into thinking that they are raciest because they have a high rate of minority suspensions. Parents need to press charges and file restraining orders. Flood the courts and you will finally see some action.

ok snowflake.

11:34 is correct.
People are rolling over and taking it because they assume the schools are handling it and they are not.
Start suing and making a scene and it will change.
Go big or go home.
Sue the state and the local level.
Chips fall where they may.
Don't settle and make it as public as possible.

Dear Readers,

I can assure you, that the above comments regarding potential legal action will achieve results. For any family experiencing their children encountering violent actions at the hands of other students, be assured that WCBOE now effectively has its hands tied and can do nothing beyond the pittance of discipline they occasionally met out. The only response is to go beyond them and the DOJ and file criminal and civil charges. IF this is done consistently and immediately, changes will occur that the DOJ has no control of and their directives to the WCBOE will reflect this.

Paladin

These schools are like war zones!!! If the parents only knew how many students are wearing ankle tracking bracelets that are allowed into school. People wonder why kids can't get a good education. It is due to the disruption of all the little thugs in school!!! Maybe we should build them a school like a prison due to that's where they belong!! They might as well get use to where there going to spend there life!!!

No and if your child defends their selves they are labled responders and punished the same if not more than the person that attacked them for not taking a beating or telling fast enough.

That would been the Bennett middle that was tore down. They could kept tearing it up, w/ no lost to tax payers

10:27 who are you Mr Annonymous? Let me find that little brat and see what you do.

The only problem is people don't have the money to hire lawyers.

Hire older kids to provide return attacks .Provide physical damage with return damage.

I had a punk thug picking on me in 9th grade at JMB back in the day. My father told me if he touched me again to hit him as hard as I could. I did just that. Gym class locker room and Johnny U. let the chips fall where they landed. I never had anyone bother me again and was known as that "crazy white boy". They scared easy back and nobody carried weapons.

It is ridiculous that these attacks happen in the schools. What type of school is this that allows bullying? Schools like this should not receive funds from federal or state. We send kids to the school to learn and the school is supposed to keep them safe. Hopefully the family presses charges against the school. Students like those who attacked a another student should be in jail.

1101 were you raised in the sticks with home schooling? Bullying has been around forever it's just gotten worse since protected races were allowed to run rampant in our society. Obama gave these people permission to bully with amplification. He's done nothing but divide this country. In retrospect, it probably was a bad idea to elect him for the simple fact that people weren't prepared for his ideology in total. Its had negative repercussions and almost destroyed any civility in this country.

I went to a school where we have to respect others ideologies or backgrounds. Never physical attacks were allowed. Getting use to these behaviors and doing nothing allows it to continue. When you see it on the news it is one thing but when it is your family you wonder why we have not done anything to protect our kids regardless of people's background.
