3 people shot along Route 50, closing portion of highway

TUXEDO, Md. — Three people have been shot on Route 50 in Prince George's County, according to reports.

Maryland State Police are on the scene of a shooting that happened along Route 50 between Kenilworth Ave and Columbia Park Road in Tuxedo, WBAL-TV 11 News sister station WRC reports.

Three people were taken to an area hospital. There is no word yet on their condition, or what prompted the shooting.

Only one westbound lane along Route 50 is open between Kenilworth and Columbia Park Drive in Tuxedo. The Maryland State Highway Administration, in a tweet, advised motorists to take Maryland Route 201 as a detour.
