Perfectly legal to have a remington 870 pump with a slug barrel (20") in plain view in vehicle as long as not loaded. Keep 3-4 shells in your jacket pocket. By the timed pulled over on the shoulder and the perps out of their vehicle you have shells in the tube. The sound of a shell being racked is enough to send most people heading in the other direction, if not, game on.

Please stop whining about CCW. People can get them if they meet the qualifications. Wealthy people just buy them, meaning they setup a business or become a "partner" in an existing business that allows them to meet the criteria. The average person is never going to get a CCW in MD. It is just not going to happen.

In PA, you walk into the sheriff's office, do instant background check and walk out with CCW. FL requires a class (8 hr. if I remember), background and you get CCW.

The powers to be on the western shore are never going to be persuaded to roll back the restrictions that have already been enacted. Sorry. If you are that scared, I suggest you move to a state that allows you to carry.

I believe this article is proof that there needs to be stricter knife control laws on the books. Society today has so much access to knives; they are everywhere. I think any home owner needs to take classes on how to handle knives in the kitchen and knife locks should be mandatory so they are kept out of the hands of youngsters. The two for one ads on TV for the sharpest knives available are fodder for crimes such as mentioned in the article. I am sure there will be pushback from the NKA (National Knife Association)but someone has to step up.

Next in Maryland you will have to get a permit for an 8" Phillips head screwdriver. As I've said in the past carry a can of wasp spray which sprays 20' or so.
