Did you know that those Democratic states were Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, South Carolina and Texas and they seceded from the Union to form the Confederate States of America? This all happened within the weeks between his election and inauguration. Back in Lincoln's era the Democratic party was more in line with the Republican ideals of today. Not as cut and dry as you make it with a picture lol
