Jake Day you have proven yourself to be a complete moron when it comes to retaining quality officers. As Salisbury P.D. bleeds officers both new and vested are leaving. Many for less paying careers elsewhere. I am not in the habit of throwing cops under the bus but here goes. Scott Kolb is a major catalyst in the problem. However Kolb could not be the complete as hole he is without Duncan's approval

I have heard in rumor mill that there is someone who is local and has over 25 years of law enforcement and command experience who wants to head this department. This person would be a great fit for SPD and would have a significant positive impact on the department and the community. Wake up Jake and lets get something done right for once......

being extremely skeptical of anything the media chooses to shove down our throats these days I tend to agree with 2:53. But Target is well-deserving of a shake up or total company collapse since their management leadership is so clueless and willing to get in line with insanity. No rushing and knocking people over to get their 666 forehead stamp!! and allot cheer them on! Hey Jake I hope you are reading this post. I just heard today more officers are going else where. What do you plan to do to fix things. I understand you and the Chief have a social agenda. Placating to one segment of your city. That is all fine and well but if you continue to ignore the elephant in the room it will surely bite you in the arse. Salisbury City Police Department has a rich history of being one of the chosen agencies to work for. It has now become where one goes to get certified and then move on. This is costing tax payers millions. As I follow you and Babs I see tax payers are not at the top of your liberal agenda. If you continue down this path you are one and done. It is not just the P.D. that is unhappy with the state of the city.
I am in by no way a union person. I have seen what it has done in the county for the Sheriff's Deputies. Though they may not be totally happy under their Sheriff they are staying put. Bob Culver works with the men and women who serve and protect. The crime in the country will just get worse as we have witnessed in the last six months. The P.D. has lost some quality officers in the last two years. As a voter I expect you to step up and keep your word. It is all you have at the end of the day. You lose that you lose it all. Maybe the officers need to follow Ocean City Police and the Wicomico County Sheriff's Office and get collective bargaining. There are some local quality leaders that will run the P.D. like a police department and not Social Services. What's next you and Babs going to distribute food stamps.
2:53 you hit the nail on the head. Has there ever been a bomb found where there has been a bomb threat called in? Not as long as I can remember.Yes calling it in defeats the thugs- terrorist objective. I would feel safer in a building where a bomb has been called in than a gun free zone.
And the officers are leaving for smaller and worse paying jobs - anything to get out of that building - and that is not the only department that can not keep anyone in this county Joe.
Good cops leaving because of piss poor leadership. SPD set the state record for Internals. One name behind that and it is a four letter word KOLB. If you have a weak link in a chain you replace it.
