Cops Use Taser on Cleaning Woman After Mistaking Her for Burglar, Then Charge Her with Evading Arrest

Two Tennessee cops are being criticized for excessive force for tasering a 36-year-old middle-school cleaning woman after they confronted her at night in the otherwise empty school.

Juana Raymundo, originally from Guatemala, has been charged with evading arrest after she ran from the police who thought she was a burglar — despite seeing her cleaning supplies in the hallway — reports the Times Free Press.

According to the police report, Sgt. Jamie Heath and Officer Brian Desmond entered Ooltewah Middle School at 8:30pm earlier this month after noticing a door to the school was left open. Inspecting the school with their guns drawn, they spotted the cleaning supplies in the hallway before encountering an empty-handed Raymundo who appeared, “nervous and somewhat reserved.”

Give our boys in blue a little credit-at least they didn't get scared and kill her. It was her lucky day.

Had to justify their actions. The sheep don't realize the charge comes after an attempted false arrest. Fight for your Rights and liberties and you'll get this minimum, a coffin max! Please Leos.... Let us hear how this is justified!

Many Guatemalans and others from Central America have a well-deserved general fear of police that was developed in their home countries, where an encounter with police often ends in violence or the disappearance of the civilian.

8:34 exactly. The bottom line is she was here illegally. Never happens if she obeyed the laws of the U.S. to begin with. Libtards make me sick. 7:17 they do not have to justify crap to you. Last time I checked they do have to kiss the asses of every libtard in America. She ran because she was illegal period. Yes her cultural back story may give her a ligitimate fear of police. The police here in America are very subdued compared to most.

Her fault for causing police actions. Pretty simple and obviously justified.

Nowhere does this article discuss the cleaning lady's immigration status. Are you assuming she is a criminal because of her name?
