A Viewer Writes: Walston Switch Closure

There was shut down on 12/8/15 and it is still shut down.

Residents are having to go well out of their way or travel through Wor-Wic to access Walston Switch or get to their homes that are off of Walston Switch. Originally this shut-down was to have been less than a week and no one was to have inconveniences for more than a day or two. I feel bad for traveler who should be able to take Walston Switch to get to the airport. Not to mention Walston Switch is a main artery for FedEx as well. I don't know if they hit a road bump that has stopped them from fixing the road or if they are just milking the process of having the road closed so they can have the site area open for their construction. I know there is only one residential house that is across from the site, I imagine this is an inconvenience for them as well. Maybe Choptank will give us a rebate on our bills for the inconvenience.

Boo hoo. Just deal with it. Road construction never goes as planned.

What about the signs to cross 50 at Walston switch? Lanes designations per the sign don't match the road and people who aren't used to it must change lanes in the small section of road in between the highway

no construction never goes as planned but when you say 7-days it should not be 30 days with the weather we have had
This particular detour takes people on dark back roads that sharp and curvy - I own a business and it is quite dangerous for my clients as well as the deer

To 10;26 kma. An entire McDonalds can be torn down and rebuilt within 60 days. The contractors on this job should be held accountable in terms of liquidated damages. Not asking for anything more than to just honor your obligations.
