Santa Claus Joins the MSP to host Winter Wonderland

(Princess Anne, MD) – Santa Claus and state troopers from the Princess Anne Barrack invite everyone to a free Winter Wonderland, in partnership with the Somerset County Local Management Board, Inc. (SCLMB).

“We are excited to offer this free event with holiday activities for children to enjoy, and to connect families to resources available in our community,” said Lt. Patrick Metzger, Princess Anne Barrack Commander and SCLMB board member. “This can be a challenging time of year for many families in Somerset County. We want to make it a little easier for them by helping to provide gifts and food for the holidays.”

The event is designed to build community ties with local law enforcement agencies. The MSP and the SCLMB are working hand-in-hand to provide a fun and informative day for youth from across the county. MSP troopers along with officers with the Maryland Natural Resources Police will be on hand to promote the prevention of alcohol, drug and tobacco use as well as bullying. The Somerset County Sheriff’s Office will provide free child fingerprinting and the Princess Anne Police Department will be manning the grill.

Winter Wonderland is supported by generation donations from Mountaire Farms, the Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore and PNC Bank.

Sounds more like a lecture than a fun night out and opportunity to interrogate children while promoting prevention of all evils. MSP to child - "what do you want for xmas? Does your mommy do drugs at home? Is that why santa doesn't bring you any gifts? Are there guns in the house?"
