Sorry, Media, You Won’t Destroy Ben Carson

Let’s begin with two propositions: There is a difference between an admirable man and a perfect man, and there is a difference between “vetting” and viciousness. The collective goal of the liberal media is now clear — to take one of America’s most admired and brilliant men and somehow transform him into a dishonest, stupid extremist. The vetting of Ben Carson has become vicious, and to what end? An admirable man has been exposed as imperfect.

The first round of attacks, focusing on Carson’s alleged extremism, failed utterly. Under fire — for claiming that it would be better if victims rushed mass shooters rather than hiding, for asserting that Hitler would have been less likely to accomplish his aims if the German people had been armed, and for comparing the debate over abortion to the debate over slavery — Carson refused to back down. A conservative public, wearily familiar with politicians kowtowing to media-generated outrage, took notice.

Rather than deal directly with Carson’s statements, the media twisted his words, scurrilously asserting that he was “blaming the victims” of school shootings and claiming that German Jews alone could have stopped the Holocaust (when he’d plainly referred to the “German people,” not just German Jews). As for the abortion–slavery comparison, even Vox noted that conservatives have been making that argument for decades. The comparison is controversial, certainly, but hardly “extreme.”

The guy has as much personality as a wet noodle. He would make a great VP not the front face of the nation. I hate Obama but at least he is good on camera and can BS with the best of them. Ben is too quite and reserved. I am surprised he has gotten this far.

If your going to make up a biography then it isn't a biography, it is fiction.

I'm sure everyone has come in contact with evil and recognized it. How come when we come in contact with good we can't accept it?

I think the media is toast!

There are three possibilities, any one of which would be a good pick and so much better than what we have now. This man and Ted Cruz are the ONLY two candidates that I see as incorruptable. Trump was corrupted decades ago but would still be a great president. Just my two cents worth.

I wish people that cannot used the correct words would be quite too.

Dr. Carson's life record proves what kind of person he is. Lying and quibbling about small details doesn't change it. The liberal media can't stand it, they have to try to destroy his goodness. He would be a great leader and a great president and very inspirational.

lemmings in the press don't have a clue on what the truth is...there is not a class offered in it in any of the Journalism schools

Whoa, whoa, whoa. My Jewish friend, who is not a big Carson fan, defended him against b.s. interpreting of his comment about guns and Hitler, saying no way was that a blaming of the Jews. It was a statement about the 2nd amendment and its ability to head off extremism in government.

My friend is obviously a much more intelligent and fair person than the idiots in the media.

lost was Carson being asked about Death Threats on Meet The Press. Two guesses how to profile usual suspects. Left and looney count as one guess

4:33 sadly you are apart of the sheeple problem. Your choices have been made on the Hollywood media effect of "personality". How about content of character? Content of policy?

Why isn't the mainstream media bitching about Hillary's lies about Benghazi abd her e-mail scam.

Yes. Dr. Carson is a mild, even tempered, deep thinking man who prefers rational strategy and learned advice about issues. He has overcome adversity so been there done that. He scares people especially the progressive leftists and secular ideologies. Listen to what he has to say; in my opinion so far it is worth listening to.

So you voted for the current president because he can bs with the best of them?! Awesome. Please move to China.

I know Carson looks very tame but I see a spine of steel beneath that unflappable façade. I'm not sure who I will vote for this coming spring but I will happily vote for any of the top three Republicans next fall.
