Hell NO!!! The people and businesses of the city have destroyed our water. When I was a child you could swim at the city park, Shumaker Pond, Johnson's Lake, Leonard Mill Pond. All of these natural resources were available for families and it was a great resource and brings back lots of memories. All of these waters mentioned will NEVER be available for swimming ever again. Irelton or anyone else who talks about swimming in these waters again are idiots; the damage done will never be reversed. Just political talk and grandstanding on Irelton's part.

Too many floaters in the water. Need a sludge skimmer to navigate the river. In the summer, the smell is really bad sometimes because of this! Can't believe anyone would want to fish from this river or if anything is even alive in it!

Let's let Jimmie jump in first

Swim in this river? Political BS from Ireton, who said in 2007 that it would be swimmable in 10 years under his term(s). He's a good one for stirring up useless crap for his own benefit at the polls.

It would be a good goal, but I wouldn't swim in ANY river on the Eastern Shore. They all stink.

I too use to swim in these ponds as a child. And after all these years, these places aren't fit for nature itself. Even the Chesapeake Bay is dead. What makes him think he can clean these places. He's a big fat liar.

Sby residents have shown a strong resistance to change.Don't expect that mentality to change any time soon. They like empty buildings and vacant lots because they equate vacancies with lower crime rates. Then they flip out when homeless people occupy those vacant structures and illicit activities occur on property that should have been occupied. Our votes should be recorded in the future,so when one of our citizens complain about an issue their vote will decide if action will be taken to correct that issue.

Sounds like you are defending Gay Boi Liarton.

BTW who is running against him? I don't care who it is, we just don't need Jimbeau back in there. He left the City Council once and now he theoretically left the mayor's seat, because his job or 2 terms wasn't up. He is a coward not to defend his seat. Now he hopes to accept a demotion.

Jim jump in and swim to the gay Whitehouse.

Please do not vote for this BSh***er for City Council. You see what we got from him as long as he was Mayor - Nothing but hissy fits - so please do not vote for him.

I thought you were going to say you got seriously drunk one night and dove in on Liarton. You know you like it... Wink, Wink!

Oh and I would have told you that what you dove in to was most likely a big turd.

He should be made to drink a glass of water from the river daily. Well he is use to nasty stuff in his mouth that will not work. Just get rid of him
