Worcester County Sheriff’s OfficePress Release 8-3-15

 

On July 31, 2015 the Worcester County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a shoplifter at the Wal-Mart in Berlin. Upon arrival of the Deputy, he learned that Wal-Mart had stopped a subject leaving the store with a cart full of merchandise with a value of $166.63. The shoplifter was identified as Donna Romero 55 of Newark Md. .

Further investigation revealed that Ms. Romero had allegedly been involved with a shoplifting scheme over the month of July. The total value for all the thefts was $332.19.
A search of Ms. Romero’s purse revealed 2 prescription pills with no accompanying prescription. A search of Ms. Romero’s vehicle revealed 4 bags of heroin.
Ms. Romero was charged with theft less than $1,000, theft less than $100 (6 Counts), a theft scheme less than $1,000 (1 Count), C.D.S. possession (2 Counts).
Ms. Romero was released pending trial.

On 07/30/2015 at approximately 2054 hours, a Worcester County Sheriff's Office Deputy responded to 12641 Ocean Gateway, West Ocean City, Worcester County, MD 21811 to assist a Deputy who had been involved in a motor vehicle collision. A male subject had driven his vehicle into an unmarked patrol vehicle. The suspect was detained and identified as Antonio Larry Hayward, 28 of Bishopville, Maryland.
Mr. Hayward’s license was Suspended and Revoked through the State of Maryland. Hayward admitted to using CDS, specifically LSD, before operating the motor vehicle. The vehicle Mr. Hayward was operating was searched and multiple blue packages of suspected Heroin were located.
Mr. Hayward was placed under arrest and charged with possession of C.D.S. and eight traffic citations. Then taken to the District Court Commissioner where he was released on his personal recognizance pending trial.

On July 31, 2015 at approximately 0500 hours a Worcester County Sheriff’s Office Deputy responded to South Point Road in reference to a collision. Upon arrival the Deputy found a white Chevrolet Pick-Up truck overturned at the end of the driveway in the 6300 block of South Point Road.
The driver of the vehicle was identified as Jeffrey Brian Leidner, age 56 of Berlin, Maryland.
Mr. Leidner did poorly on field sobriety tests and was arrested He was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and released pending trial.

On July 30, 2015 at approximately 5:51 a Worcester County Sheriff’s Office Deputy responded to 12827 Ocean Gateway Royal Farms in reference to a possible intoxicated driver. The driver of the vehicle identified as Eric James Teel 28, from Heathsville VA was operating his vehicle on suspended license and had ran into the curb on Ocean Gateway on several occasions causing damage to the passenger side of his vehicle.
Upon making contact with Mr. Teel an odor of an alcoholic beverage was being omitted from his breath and person, eyes bloodshot and glassy speech slurred.
Mr. Teel was subsequently charged with Driving while impaired, Driving on suspended license, reckless driving and negligent driving. Teel was released on citations pending court date.

On July 31st, 2015, Worcester County Sheriff's Office received a call of trespassing in the 12500 block of Old Bridge Road, Ocean City, Worcester County, MD. Upon arrival, the vehicle and driver had left the area. A Deputy spoke with the homeowner/victim who advised the suspect in question continues to park his BMW in the area and walk through his yard and around his residence. The homeowner stated he made contact with the suspect on July 13th and advised him to stay off his property and not to return. A check of the call history of that residence showed the police had been called on July 13th, July 27th and July 31st all for the same incident.

A short time later the homeowner re contacted the Sheriff's Office and advised the suspect had returned. The suspect was located in the area and a traffic stop was initiated. The suspect, identified as Kebba Wadda 47 of West Ocean City, was placed under arrest and charged with four counts of trespassing. Mr. Wadda was taken before a court commissioner who released him on his own personal recognizance.

Kebba Wadda? Your kidding me right? I swear. Some of the names parents are giving nowadays.

The real problem here is every single arrest on this list was then released to repeat over and over.
