Wal-Mart to stop selling AR-15s and similar weapons

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) — Wal-Mart will stop selling the AR-15 rifle and other semi-automatic weapons at its stores because fewer people are buying them, a spokesman said Wednesday.

The AR-15 rifles and other modern sporting rifles were being sold at less than a third of the company’s 4,600 U.S. stores. Company spokesman Kory Lundberg said Wal-Mart Stores Inc. will remove the remaining inventory as stores transition from summer to fall merchandise, which should take a week or two to complete.

Lundberg said the decision to remove the weapons was not political and that the Bentonville, Arkansas-based retailer made the decision earlier this year.

After quickly reading the link I did not see any mention of the BB guns that look like assault rifles.I'm telling you right now, someone will get killed over a look alike assault rifle and the stores who carry the BB and pellet lookalikes should be held accountable. We already have seen the disastrous results of kids carrying the BB guns that look like .45 Automatics and 9MM handguns, and every time a cop shoots one of the children (who typically look like grown men)in self defense they get raked over the coals, but the sales continue.Whatever happened to BB guns looking like BB guns?

Dude. Stfu! Our guns are already being sought after. Keep on taking and straws and spit balls will be illegal.

Here in mainland Virginia, our Walmart sells a AR 223.cal. rifle for just over $600.00 bucks, I wonder if they are going to drop the price to get rid of them?

I know that shimano, who have always sold high quality bike parts, have for some time made cheap junk parts exclusively for Walmart bikes. I don't need to own some Walmart spec junk gun that is going to jam up when I need it. Haven't shopped there in 8 years. They destroy communities and the middle class.

3:36 I worked for Berretta firearm's, all guns have to meet specific safety, and quality standards before they are released to a distributer. A buyer of firearms contacts a distributer, and purchase a quantity of guns for his store, there are no specific "Junk Guns" made for anyone. The distributer has a random selection of guns, non are ever made below quality ever.
There used to be certain models were made for Sears, or Montgomery Wards, or Ace, but not in 40 years.
Now any gun you buy at Walmart is just the same as one from Gander Mtn. or Joe Smoes gun shop.
