State Police Investigating Fatal Pedestrian Crash, Laurel
Laurel- The Delaware State Police have identified the pedestrian involved in the fatal motor vehicle crash that occurred on Tuesday August 25, 2015 as Southey White, 82 of Laurel.
The Collision Reconstruction Unit is continuing their investigation into this incident.

State Police Investigating Fatal Pedestrian Crash, Laurel
Laurel, DE- The Delaware State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit is currently investigating a fatal pedestrian crash that occurred earlier this afternoon.
Preliminary investigation has determined that the incident occurred around 4:53 p.m. today, Tuesday August 25, 2015, as Robert C. Moore 3rd, 19 of Delmar, DE, was operating a 2000 GMC Sierra pickup truck southbound in the right lane on Sussex Highway (US13) just north of Boyce Road. An 82 year old male from Laurel was walking westbound from the center median and entered into the southbound lanes where he was struck by the front left side of the pickup and thrown to the ground. The pickup truck was able to come to a controlled stop after the collision.
The 82 year old male, whose name is being withheld pending the notification of next of kin, was transported by EMS to Nanticoke Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Robert Moore, who was properly restrained, was also taken by EMS to Nanticoke Memorial Hospital where he was treated and released with non-life-threatening injuries.
The Collision Reconstruction Unit is continuing the investigation into this incident. US13 southbound in the area of Boyce Road was closed for approximately two and a half hours while the crash was investigated and cleared.
