Brian Nielsen, a volunteer firefighter in the town of Hartland, added a Confederate flag to the back of his fire truck and flew it during the city’s parade this year. But his bosses weren’t happy at all.
He said he was demonstrating against political correctness when he flew the flag at Friday’s parade in Albert Lea. But as Nina Moini reports, he got a stronger reaction than he ever expected.
…Many people in this city of 300 told WCCO they support Nielsen, a volunteer fireman for the last 10 years in a city that has only 18. Some parade watchers were offended.
The city suspended him after hundreds of people saw an image on social media that’s always stirred up mixed emotions.

A young black kid is dead right now after being gunned down in Chicago by gang members who were after his father, also a gang member. Why aren't we making changes over that?

A civil war is brewing and I hope that it happens soon. I believe I would use the Confederate Flag as the flag of the opposition.

And I will be part of that 3% Lock and Loaded. I am stocking up and training my kids to know right from wrong.
The revolution will not be televised.
But as long as 13% of the population has a stranglehold on the majority, they have the force of the unjust judicial system on their side.
Agree we have PC run amok over this issue...but his actions were stupid, both in acting unilaterally and because it was a 4th of July parade celebrating our founding and ideals.
Suspension from his volunteer job for a short period sounds about right.
Hidden dangers of the rainbow..educate yourself..the dangers are already here and a major evil political force that must be stopped and i don't think our leaders are up to it .In fact they nurture the hostility. We are under attack from within. Be vigilant.. Don't tread on me flying proud
