According to the "Baltimore Sun" a spokesman for the Mayor says she finds the flag to be divisive and offensive.
The call for change comes after South Carolina's governor said she wanted to remove the flag from the State House following the massacre at Emanuel AME Church in Charleston.

I don't think you can get these plates anymore. I may be wrong, but I thought they quit issuing new plates wit the flag. If you already had one, it was still valid.
When she can do her job, then she can tell others how to run the state. I hate, yes hate, Baltimore, and this sorry excuse of a state that is Maryland. In order to foster unity and stamp out a supposed 'symbol of hatred' a large segment of the population are being stereotyped, judged, and found guilty. Apparently, some of us are being denied symbols of our heritage because some others find them 'offensive'. Yet, if I find LGBT plates offensive, I'm expected to suck it up and deal with it. Seems somewhat intolerant, narrow-minded, and prejudiced to me.
It's not even the Confederate flag! It's the battle flag of the Army of Northern Virginia, the army led by Robert E. Lee. The Confederate is the Stars and Bars.

My kids public school has GOD BLESS AMERICA across the main entrance in 1 ft high letters, they say the pledge of allegiance. Any discipline problems are dealt with swiftly and fairly.This state is truely wild and wonderful!

Owners and flyers of the Confederate flag are going to have to register under a new national policy.
Those that embrace this symbol of hate will now be called, "Racist Terrorist".
They must register and be photographed so that victims can see on the internet whom might attack them, or discriminate against them.
All symbols of hate must be surrender to the NAACP for burning. Confederate flag owners have 24 hours to comply or die.

The civil war was about so much more thaN slavery. Slavery was horrible and a disgraceful scar upon our nation that will never be erased. One murderer and we abandon our history. The Confederate Flag was not meant to be a racist thing everyone forgets it was brother against brother, the North against the South, the north had the Union Jack and the south had the confederate flag, it was not about racism this was the reason given for one man's craziness and one small racist section of nuts. We have now managed to let one man take lives, history and our common sense!
