Wonder who owns them. I expect it would explain a lot.

Anonymous said...

As long as the owner is connected to law enforcement, government, or is rich, than it is OK.

Anonymous said...

I for one would want them found as quickly as possible. They pose a dangerous risk to drivers around the area.

You think a deer can do some damage? Being proactive in this case may save someone's life. If this happens frequently simply bill the owners of the horses.

What is the problem with that? I know there is cost involved, with taxpayers monies. Like someone has said, there is a safety issue with horses roaming about. Perhaps comparable to deer, but these, I assume, are tame and can be captured.

Also there is the lost of valuable personal property.

I don't know whether or not a bill for services will be sent to the owner of the horses. But I, for one, see no harm in doing this.

How do you know they weren't already in air flying back from Shock Trauma and did a fly over of the area?

fools see nothing wrong with this waste of taxpayers resources. How about hiring a private contractor to do this type of stuff?

I think it is a waste of tax payer money. If they are billing the owners fine......if not it should be stopped.

I doubt they would fly you from an accident to the hospital for free, so why should they be using fuel to find horses. Should we also stop driving because a deer may run out in front of us? There are lots of hazards when you drive.

If your dog gets lose and they are caught there is a fine.....will the owner be fined for their horses getting out?

Can we use flying horses to find lost helicopters? Now... back to my joint...

I wonder if the horses belong to leone retired msp or bobbi jo wcso

1:32, just to correct things, there is NO charge for the MSP helo to fly you from an accident scene to the hospital, whether that hospital is in Berlin, Salisbury, or Baltimore. Part of the funding comes from vehicle tag fees. No, I am not connected with law enforcement, just an informed individual. I'm not sure I like this idea, but I'm not opposed to it in certain situations. You have to know the WHOLE story to make an informed statement. Just my thought.

So do you want the Coast Guard or Natural Resources Police to charge you to save your life if you red help on the water?

Anonymous said...

3:36 Coast Guard already charges you for a rescue, if you are out in your small boat after "Small craft advisory" has been issued and you have to be rescued.
And as far as hitting a horse or other livestock with your car, it is the owner of the animal that will be charged with a crime and have to pay for all the damages, including the lawsuit!

Not always. In some areas, if a farmer's cows get out and someone hits them on the road, the driver has to pay the farmer for the damages/loss of the cow.

how is it a waste...of anything?

do YOU even pay taxes?

regardless, wtf is wrong with you and others who think like that? taxpayers monies will be spent regardless of any reason. at least THIS TIME they have a valid and good reason.

except for people who pay a couple thousand (maybe) bucks in taxes, they years they work, and think they pay the majority of all projects. in two different states at that.

I don't see how long it took them to capture these horses, nor how long the helo was in the air, or even if it was ALREADY in the air.

See what I mean Joe? Too much hate, not enough love in the world. and worry about some trivial thing like this but don't bat an eye over TRILLIONS of dollars of waste.

They were lost not stolen.
It was a very rural area mostly wooded.
Most horses return home on their own.
Not a danger to drivers if the driver is vigilant. Daylight hours. Few roads.
A bill should be sent for man hours and fuel cost. And this should never happen again. You can call your volunteer fire co and they can assist. Not police!

I can tell you that two of our horses got out one day and I can't tell you how scary that is. Considering we back up to Rt. 54, the last thing anyone needed was to have two horses running down or into that road. I immediately called the Delmar Fire Department just to let them know they were gone. As we were searching for them, the Fire Department was riding, (in a chase vehicle) up and down Rt. 54 to make sure they weren't there. We found them about 2 miles from the house on Providence Church Road, Thank God and we were able to walk them home with no problem at all.

Again, I can't thank the Delmar Fire Department enough for their immediate help and concern. It was years ago but that is something I will never forget.

4;38 I pay a shitload in taxes, doesn't matter whether it's from my tag fees or my PAID taxes. It's till money I worked hard for and I don't expect to see I wasted like this. If you want and can afford to own horse then you ought to be able to take care of them properly! Not at the expense of others! that's the problem with you, big man! how about you foot the bill personally for this own?

6:10, While I certainly do not support a helicopter going out in search for lost horses, let me assure you, these people didn't purposely let any of them out. I've been there and it's very scary. Many of us spent a LOT of money securing these animals properly. In our case there was a storm and a large branch came down on the fencing and they got free. No one wants to "CAGE" an animals like a Horse. However, these accidents unfortunately happen. One commenter may be right, the helicopter may have been in the area and did a quick search. Put it this way, I hope that was the case anyway.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. I don't know what you consider a sh*&load and don't really care, big man.

This is NOT a waste of anyone's money. This is part of the reason, and duties, of our public servants, that we DO pay for.

Everyone getting all worked up about nothing. No one even has all the facts and figures and some ( you ) are ready to go to war because at least 3 different agencies from two different states helped someone out.

If this really upsets you that much, you are a heart attack waiting to happen. Tone down your imagination a tad bit. There are much more important issues to worry about than this.

Now if someone came along and hit one of those horses and someone got killed everyone would be saying why didn't the police help. With all their equipment and technology.

Speaking of which, if they can find a person in the woods, how much longer do you think it would take them to find 3 horses much larger?

How many governmental meetings do you attend to demand an accounting of all your paid taxes and how they are spent?

Have a nice night concerned citizen.
