Sad Story From Ferguson Turns Into A Happy One

This is Natalie DuBose she has a cake store in Ferguson that was looted by the protesters. She sold cakes at flea markets to save up enough to open her own store.  In one night all her hard work was destroyed...........or so she thought.  Someone has set up a GOFUNDME account to help her get back on her feet. This is a busy time of year for a bakery.   The message that she posted on Gofundme is very touching.  CLICK HERE to read and see how much people have donated.

People are so gullible. Sorry but I want to see photos of the damage.
Not uncommon for people to lie and work off others sympathy especially around the holidays.
I am not saying this story is untrue, I am saying I want proof it is.
95,000 for a broken window seems like a bit much.

She didn't set up either of them.

12:57 - Actually she did set one of them up, this is quoted from her gofundme -

"It was suggested that I start this account by a new friend and here it is."

Try using facts.

I don't understand why anyone would want to re-open a business there. Sure this will pass but, you'll still have the same people living there(I can't imagine that all of the people rioting were bussed in). Nothing basic will have changed. I think I'd cut my losses and bake my cakes somewhere else.

Take their EBT, welfare and other handouts, and give that to the small business' affected so they can relocate to a city that values their community.

you can bet with the 100K she got, she will be moving.

I think she's legit. She was interviewed on TV the first night and you could tell she was in shock and wasn't believing what she was hearing and seeing. It was the same kind of surreal reaction-almost spacey you could say- she had, that I saw in the family and friends of the officers that were involved in the plane crash in OC until it was confirmed to them by seeing with their own eyes that the accident had occurred. Hard to explain but I'm sure she's for real.

128 because fortunately the looters do not represent the vast majority of the population or her customer base, else she would have never established her business

We have to be politically correct when we talk about looters. They are not looters, they are Undocumented Shoppers. I hope she will be able to get another shop and prosper.

Her insurance would have paid for the interior damage, the property owners insurance would have paid for the property damage.

Not sure why she needs to beg the public for money and play on people emotions.

Her shop was spared, compared to those that were totaled, like the liquor store.

527 something tells me you know very little about starting your own small business. Or maybe you were one who was fortunate to start yours after "borrowing 20k from your parents".
