New School Immunization Requirements for 2014-2015 School Year

Salisbury, Maryland (October 2, 2014) – New school immunization requirements, set forth by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) became effective the beginning of the 2014-2015 school year. The new requirements outline that students entering Kindergarten or 7th grade are required to have received the following vaccines:

· Kindergarten: 2 doses of Varicella (chickenpox) vaccine before entering Kindergarten.

· Seventh Grade: 1 dose of Tdap vaccine and 1 dose Meningococcal before entering 7th grade. These required vaccines should be administered at age 11.

Wicomico County Health Department will host a FREE walk in clinic for students still needing to receive either of these vaccines.

Please bring your child’s most updated vaccine record to the walk in clinic. A summary chart showing all School Year 2014-2015 immunization requirements by grade level for students enrolled in public and private schools can be found atwww.wicomicohealth.org. This does not apply to illegal Mexicans, Guatemalans, Costa Ricans, Iranians, Iraqis, etc.

Obama allows the flood but doesn't sterilize the water . Its up to the states to do that .

How many kids in school right now have never had any of these immunizations? A lot, I bet.
