Navy Sailors, Off-Duty Police Fight Outside Virginia Beach Bar

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) – A brawl between Navy sailors and off-duty police officers Saturday morning at a Virginia Beach bar led to pepper spray, a hospital visit and someone behind bars.

Some members of the Navy, based at Oceana, rented a party bus in celebration of two people moving on from the squadron, according to WAVY.com sources. Just after midnight Oct. 25, the group headed to Eagle’s Nest Rockin Country Bar near the Hilltop Shopping Center.

At the same time, three off-duty Virginia Beach police officers were leaving the pub, said the bar manager. According to security, the officers had eaten dinner and were not in uniform. 10 On Your Side has received conflicting reports about when the officers’ next shift would start.

A Virginia Beach Police Department representative said they are still sorting through the facts and will release more information Monday.

I was in the Navy and stationed at Oceana NAS from 05-09'. The Virgina Beach PD has always had it out for the military. Mainly the sailors because there are multiple Navy bases within a 20 mile radius of Virginia Beach. The Virginia State Troopers never have anyone a problem but the Va-Beach PD is full of a bunch of pompous pricks.

I'm sure the squids do absolutely nothing to provoke The Virginia Beach PD.
