Marine Banned From Md. School After Homework Assignment Dispute

WASHINGTON -- A father has been banned from a Charles County, Maryland school after a dispute over his daughter's World History class homework assignment.

Kevin Wood told FOX5 he was banned from La Plata High School after he objected to a three-page assignment asking students to examine Islam. Wood, a veteran, told FOX5 he and his wife believe religion should not be taught in schools, and Islam should not get priority over other religions.

"We cannot discuss our Ten Commandments at school, but they can discuss Islam's Five Pillars," Melissa Wood, Kevin's wife, said to FOX5.

You must be an Obama and Muslim lover. You need an ounce of lead between your eyes.

I think the point here is not that they are teaching the basic tenants of religion but that they are only allowing the tenants of Islam to be taught.

To be completely honest if they are learning about the crusades you have to have some back story as to why these two groups went at it for so long. If they were to teach the basic tenants of Christianity as well would it be such a huge issue?

Infact World History, specifically all world history until about 200 years ago, is all about religions. The world was dominated by religion and religious politics. And along with the politics comes massive and wide spread corruption. THey need to talk about that as well. They also need to put into perspective the horrendous murder of millions upon millions of citizens due to these religious conflicts. Wars were started solely on the basis of religion.

You also see that many of the revolutionary figures in history were persecuted based on religious beliefs.

You simply can not get a complete understanding of world history without discussing religion. If you try you simply get a story full of holes without the understanding of why many things occurred.

Anyone who's been paying attention knows that islam is getting a whole lot of forced coverage from apologists and naive sympathizers. Teaching about the subject wouldn't be an issue--were Christianity and Judaism not hushed and downplayed. The blatant disparity is enough to make any person of reason question the motives behind these 'educators' reasons for forcing muslim ideology down our children's throats.

This is Common Core. No more Dick, Jane and Spot type fictional stories. They aim to use "non fiction" lessons such as this and how great wind turbines are. Propaganda.
