The suspect was identified as 42-year-old Omar J. Gonzalez. It was not immediately clear why he sought to breach the perimeter.
Secret Service spokesman told the Associated Press that the man appeared to be unarmed as he ran across the White House lawn and through the doors, prompting an evacuation.

I want to know why this was a secret? I was picking up take out at Ruby Tuesday's right around 8 last evening, and I saw this as breaking news on CNN. All that was on the screen was White House evacuated. By the time it was replaced by Ray Rice information. When I got home, there was nothing on WBOC, FOX, CNN, nothing. I finally found a link on ABC news. What's the deal?

While attending Secret Service School, I was fortunate to review all the security that is involve at the WH and find it hard to believe that he made it inside.
Right. Jumped every fence and border all the way to d.c. jumped the wh fence eager to tell Obama he made it just like Obama dont him to do.
Somebody told that guy there was a Food Stamp Cards giveaway at the White House, so he ran like hell to be there first.
I guess all the SS agents were already at Camp David.
Why can't the Obama's ever ride together when they leave the White House? Granted Camp David is not that far of a trip but they still could have all gone together. They want us to conserve yet they don't practice what they preach.
