**UPDATE** One Charged another Sought for Attempted Murder in King’s Market Shooting

Lincoln-Troopers have charged a 22 year old Lincoln man and are actively searching for another suspect in a shooting over the weekend, which has left a 21 year old man with a gunshot wound to his lower leg.

Preliminary investigation has determined that the incident occurred on Saturday, August 16, 2014 at approximately 12:20 p.m. as cousin’s, Joshua Daniels-18 of Lincoln, Delaware and Timothy Daniels-22 also of Lincoln, arrived in a Ford Taurus at the parking lot of the King’s Market located at 20639 Fleatown Road, Lincoln, Delaware. As both subjects exited the vehicle, a physical altercation occurred between Joshua Daniels and the 21 year old victim. The altercation was broken up and Joshua Daniels and Timothy Daniels fled the area in the car.

After fleeing the scene, Joshua Daniels drove to a relative’s house and retrieved a semiautomatic handgun. The duo returned to the market with Joshua Daniels behind the wheel of the Ford and Timothy Daniels in the passenger seat. As he approached the market, Joshua Daniels slowed the vehicle and stopped, firing 6 rounds from within the vehicle, out of the open front passenger window, in the direction of the 21 year old victim, a 19 year old man, and a 57 year old man who were standing in the parking lot of the market. The 21 year old victim was struck once in the lower leg. He was transported to a local hospital where he was treated and released. The 19 year old and 57 year old were not injured as a result of the gunfire. The pair fled the area in the car after the shooting.


After further investigation and receiving public tips and leads, Troop 4 Detectives were able to identify and connect Joshua Daniels and Timothy Daniels to the shooting.

Approximately 1.5 hours after the shooting, Troopers were able to locate Timothy Daniels riding a bicycle on Cubbage Pond Road. He attempted to flee on foot from Troopers and was subsequently apprehended by a Delaware State Police K-9. He was transported to a local hospital where he was treated for multiple K-9 bites and released in custody of Troopers.

Timothy Daniels was charged with Attempted Murder 1st Degree, Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Felony, Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited after Conviction of a Felony, Reckless Endangering 1st Degree (3 counts), and Conspiracy 1st Degree. He was arraigned and committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on $125,000 Cash Bond. (Booking photo attached, light blue shirt)

Troopers continue to actively search for Joshua Daniels wanted on the Attempted Murder 1st and related charges. He should be considered armed and dangerous as the weapon has not been recovered. The Ford Taurus has been recovered. If observed call 911 immediately to report.

A lower leg shot is basically a treat and release condition.Matt Dillon would say "he's just grazed"
