State’s First Large Wind Farm To Be Off OC Coastline

With Ocean City poised to be the site of Maryland’s first large-scale, offshore wind farm, the Business Network for Maryland Offshore Wind is working to connect potential business partners with wind farm developers.

The Network launched its supply chain portal — a listing of businesses from logistics companies to land-based contractors —a month ago, but 75 companies have already signed up for the free service, said Liz Burdock, executive director of the group.

“It’s helpful for the developer,” she said. “Say they wanted a marine diving company to do some work. They would call me, and I could give them the name of the marine diving companies that were interested in the offshore wind project.

This will never work. The system will fail because of the maintenance. I believe the last I read was that the life expediency for the turbans in the salt air environment will be 12 years. We must be the stupidest Country in the world. No, we have the stupidest voters.

You are probably real close to correct on the 12 years, 4:45. And since it takes 25 years of windmilling to pay for themselves... ON LAND! Marine construction will add to those costs.

Then, since they will be a place for birds to land, and the ONLY place, there will be more bird kill than land based units.

And I don't see any of this coming to Referendum. We need to call for a place on the ballot box for this ignorance test.

In regards to wind farms:

“Results of the study suggest a negative effect of the immediate vicinity of a wind turbine on the stress parameters of geese and their productivity.”

Biologist Dr. Lynne Knuth, in a letter to the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin, testified: “The problems with animal reproduction reported in the wind farms in Wisconsin are lack of egg production, problems calving, spontaneous abortion (embryonic mortality), stillbirth, miscarriage and teratogenic effects:

In chickens: Crossed beaks, missing eyeballs, deformities of the skull (sunken eyes), joints of feet/legs bent at odd angles. In cattle: missing eyes and tails.”

Hits close to home huh?
