Local gymnasts raise money for National and Future Stars Qualifiers

Hello Mr. Albero,

I'm writing to tell you about a couple of kids in Berlin that are doing big things in the gymnastics world.

Cade Solito, age 13, is a level 9 men's junior elite gymnast who will be competing at the Junior Olympic National Championships in Long Beach CA May 7-11, 2014. He is one of only two qualifiers in the Region 7 Mens USAG division.

Cade hails from Berlin Md, where he trains at Twisters Gym with Coach Fran Fennell. He is also a straight A student.

Finley Stearn is a Level 7 Region 7 Mens gymnast who also trains at Twisters in Berlin and who is participating in the Future Stars Program in Colorado this November. Finley is also a great student and a dedicated gymnast. Both of these boys are all-around great kids who work so hard to do their best every day.

Our gym is holding a fundraiser this Friday, May 2 at 6:00 pm at Sisters in Berlin MD. Sisters is located at 113 North Main St in Berlin MD. There will be guest bartenders, a raffle, and an 50/50.
Sisters also has some great handmade merchandise for sale. This fundraiser is to help support these boys in their endeavors and to help with some of the costs of traveling across country to represent Region 7 and the Eastern Shore. The guest bartenders will be competing with each other to see who can raise the most tips. All proceeds from the tips, raffle and 50/50 will go directly to help Twisters support these boys in their travels. We are all so proud of all they have accomplished! Thanks for your time. I am also attaching a flyer for you to look at. If you would like to post this somewhere on your site, I know it will help us get the community involved and it will help us reach our goal for these great kids.

Does everything have to be about bars and drinking? Is there no better way to raise funds for such promising young athletes. Seems to be kind of the wrong approach to promoting healthy kids in sports...just my opinion.

9:02, Well, when literally hundreds of people visit 3rd Friday and the Mayor and Council majority support such events like the Salisbury Festival in which they encourage DRINKING around children, why should these events be any different?

Don't get me wrong, I firmly agree with you.

I'm sorry, I should have written that this fundraiser is to be attended by Adults Only. We are very greatful for Sisters allowing us to use their facility for this great cause!

My sister owns a gym academy in Delaware, my how good she was at it when she was young. I was amazed at what she could do.

Sounds like a great cause. I'll be there to support the kids. I didn't know that gymnastics was an available option for boys locally. That's Awesome!
