Of course most of the no shows were drug related. All the pot heads forgot that they had to go to court or couldn't find their way to court.

41,000....that's it?

Maybe bail should be set higher and the accused held in jail until trial.

Yea set bail higher and/or keep them in jail until trial. Just what we need more jails and corrections officers. Maybe ought to scroll down and read the 12:45 post [Five Stunning Facts About America's Prison System You Haven't Heard]. That's just what those pot smokers deserve.

Well if you weren't a criminal you wouldn't have to worry about being locked up now would you. I don't give a rats ass about you or your pitiful excuses to stay out of jail.

I don't do drugs and think people who do are idiots. I do think it's funny that people say lock up all criminals(no matter what the crime) and then complain about the taxes they pay or complain about how we are becoming a police state. Can't have it both ways people. By the way what constitutes a criminal. Littering or passing a stopped school bus is a crime should we put litters in jail. What about the stopped school bus with its lights flashing. How many times have we read about people being arrested for things most of us wouldn't consider a crime. What about that lady from last week who posted about the Old Mill. When she was arrested, should she have been thrown in jail without any bail until her trial. So 6:15 & 8:16 lets not concern ourselves with the Constitution(5th Amendment) at least not until the day that some law is passed that makes you a criminal. I'm not old enough to remember it but I recall reading somewhere that drinking a beer in your own home was against the law. I think they called it prohibition. Come to think about it this was a Constitutional law.

Several years ago, Maryland's court system relaxed their system of apply bonds on defendants. Never mind that this new system horribly failed for other liberal states and the results were an enormous number of defendants failing to appear for trials and hearings. The judicial branch of our governments continue to legislate from the bench in the direction they want it to go.

When the ruling political party, in Maryland's case it's Democratic (liberal) party, appoints far left liberal judges, this is what will happen.

Many appointed judges have never set foot in a criminal court room.
