Please explain to your followers WHY businesses or the public follow through with your suggestions or city/county governments establish new policy/procedures at YOUR urging or DEMANDING. I dont think you can answer that question with any amount of honesty.
Your blog how NO BEARING on how any establishment is run in Wicomico County or the City of Salisbury. Sure you have a tremendous amount of page view but it is only for those of us that are watching the train wreck in progress. Nothing more.

I love it when comments come in like this. Let's see now. First of all, I exposed how non business friendly the City was and how difficult it is to get through the permit process alone. Jim Ireton immediately changed those departments in order to make that process easier.
I created a plan for Downtown, funny how ALL of that is now coming into place. Not anywhere near as professionally planned, but it's happening. I stated there is NO trash for Downtown residents, now they are building it.
As for businesses following my suggestions, I've never told any business how to run their business, nor have I demanded anything of the sort. I/We have exposed just how bad the City and County are and have been job and business wise and I expressed what "I" would do to correct that if I had been elected. Our figures turned out to be exactly correct and now the County is in a $3.5 million deficit, just as we had predicted.
Now, I happen to think it's hilarious how afraid Jim Ireton and Rick Pollitt are of following my direction business/industry wise because it's Joe Albero's ideas. Because of such, they will continue to fail and that is unfortunate.
Now, as for the "train wreck", Good Lord, you people have been saying that for TEN years now. Don't you think you've warn that out? I've been sued and I've won every case. The train wreck was those who sued me and fair and honorable Judges ruled in my favor. Each of us disagreed and felt it needed to be decided by someone with the proper wisdom to settle our differences, in case you hadn't noticed.
Take away the electronic voting machines and I think the public will finally get the right person in Office.

There is no 'right' person for an office until the 'people' get right.
The people have to be willing to make the necessary changes, support the changes and follow through and do whatever it takes to realize whatever plan they decide on.
I don't see that happening anytime soon.
Some don't like change at all, some won't change because they don't like the person proposing the changes, some won't change until someone else changes first, some won't change for any number of other reasons.
The ones that will change and want change will have an uphill battle getting things changed because of some people's opposition, for whatever reasons.
They will likely fail to make any change thereby strengthening some people's belief that there will never be change.
Vicious cycle.
You have to get the support of the people for any change before any successful change can be attempted.
That in itself is a big challenge, especially in this area, even if the people were to like the leaders trying to implement change.
Now imagine how hard that will be with leaders no one likes, and you will see what Salisbury is facing.
We have leaders who are leaders just for the sake of being a leader.
They don't care what happens to the city. Their main concern is money and power. And the people realize that.
The people are really not as dumb as these leaders, and others, think they are.
Which begs the question, how do they get elected if so unliked?
I think most people know the answer to that. And that answer applies not only to our local elections, but national elections as well.
Rigged voting machines. Voter fraud. Voter intimidation. Illegal voters. DEAD voters. Computer programs inside voting machines to change votes. Etc.
We desperately need a lot of changes. But they won't come about from any speech, any meeting or vote of any council.
Change will only happen when the people get off their duffs and demand it and not give up until it happens.
Not complain about it, now wait until someone else does something. And not ridicule the few that actually attempt to make a change for the betterment of all the people.
As long as people do not come together as one, identify and correct problems that stand in the way, demand accountability, hold officials responsible and be responsible themselves, no positive change will ever come to be.

The above is only an assumption without positive proof that this occurs in any election.

If the commenters are in fact either city or county residents I can't for the life of me understand why no one goes before the respective elected body to start this change. That's how you hold politicians feet to the fire.
Well for one thing it is always prudent for business people and politicians to listen to others. Quite a lot of people have great ideas. Something along this line was told to me numerous times by a very successful businessman who when he died left his 2 daughters an estate worth well into the 9 figures.
