Statement From Rep. Andy Harris On SOTU

“Instead of reaching out to Congress, President Obama instead chose to lecture Congress tonight. The President is more interested in attempting to implement his liberal utopia unilaterally, in defiance of the Constitutional limits on the presidency, than in actually working together with Congress to get our economy moving again. Instead of accepting that his health care plan has major flaws and needs changing, he obstinately holds firm—harming families across the country. By taking unilateral actions and refusing to enforce parts of laws he does not like, he shows he has no interest in the rule of law. There are a number of names for the governing system President Obama envisioned in tonight's address, but representative government as envisioned by our founders is not one of them.”

It's time to pass legislation that he will veto -- and then overriding those vetoes.

Oh, wait -- there's Harry Reid -- he won't cooperate.

Then we need to change the majority party in the Senate in November!

It is true Obama is the worst president we have ever had. But what have you Republicans done to save us from him ? have you tried to impeach him NO. have you caved into every stupid idea he has had YES. Let's see fast and furious , the 2nd amendment , NSA spying , IRS abusing its powers , tsa molesting little kids , and the list goes on and on. looks to me like the new two party system is dictators and lap dogs.

Why bother with impeachment proceedings when they will never get the votes in Senate to get rid of Obama? It would be an act of futility. Now, if we change the Senate in November, Congress might actually have a chance to do their jobs and rid us of them while there is still a small glimmer of hope for this country.

The only problem I see is that if Obama gets impeached, Uncle Joe Biden would be the next president. Please excuse me for forgetting some civics class lessons, who would be the next vice president, Nancy Pelosi or Harry Reid?

11:49, neither Pelosi nor Reid would become VP. AT least, not automatically.

The VP would be appointed by the new president, subject to confirmation by a majority vote of both houses of Congress.

Now, if both Obama and Biden were to become unavailable, then Speaker of the House John Boehner would become the next president.

Can't win for losing, 1:41! Keep going on that list until we get to somebody we can trust!

Another stupid idiot that has caved in and given up. I bet you don't go to the polls because your vote won't count.

Thank you for that explanation and "unavailable" was classy.
