When Running For Governor Of Maryland, Does A Maryland Upbringing Matter?

Would Maryland voters prefer a home-grown candidate for governor?

Attorney General Douglas F. Gansler certainly seems to think so.

As Gansler (D) formally launched his 2014 gubernatorial bid with a 17-stop announcement tour last week, he mentioned his Maryland roots most everywhere he went.

it would only matter to the small minded, such as, those from Salisbury. lord knows how closed minded they are. those who have traveled are open to limitless possibilities and vision. Here they would rather keep living in the ghetto and complain, because, heaven forbid, an outsider give you a suggestion and possibly make life better. small town, small minds should be your official motto.

Under the so called leadership of Obama, O'Malley, Cardin, Milulski, Conway, Mathias and Cane, I will never again vote for another democrat.

3:19-Like when Burlington Coat Factory and Cracker Barrel were once interested? One can call it small mindedness, but why couldn't they have been made to feel welcome in SBY? BCF wanted the Old Mall property, and we all know where CB was supposed to be.A simple "what can we do to make you want to stay"? would have been nice.Better than "don't let the door hit you on your way out"

It should but you have to realize that Americans voted for a president that no one knows where he's from. So why care where the person running for governor comes from.

NO. MORE. DEMOCRATS. PERIOD.

My family history goes directly to the Ark and Dove which my great something parents were on (the Dove not both) so if heritage means anything I should make be making a normal wage. Let the best leader win and by best I mean for the entire state not just one side of the bridge

If it's so bad here, why are you? Take your opinion back to wherever it is that you come from and make THAT area "better". THIS area has steadily gotten worse by opinions such as yours. Salisbury has elected, a gay person twice, and they are close-minded? I think we see who is REALLY closed-minded, and a bigot to top it off. We do not want nor need any more people from joisey, and that includes sweat shops. And we are certainly not lacking for places to eat. So please, stop trying to "save us", and just go on your merry way. Toodles.

forget him, this is the guy who says we should not and can not get guns after oct 1 even if we bought them months ago well before this fiask-o...

Not to mention he is one of O'faily's back rubbers, so he will do exactly what O'faily did to maryland but worse...

2:40, never said i still live there. and from your city's lack of economic recovery and your ignorant comment, my point is made. enjoy your heroin addicted, ghetto, crime ridden, minimum wage life. it's an amazing world outside of small-ville.

Well that's great that you don't live here, FOR US. And since you don't, it really isn't any of your business, is it? If your world is so amazing, why are you slumming with our poor souls? It's always funny when jerks like you get called out, the person doing the calling out is ignorant. lol. Now go away before you are late for school.

9:26, yes it is great that I do not reside there. Your comment is over reaching, and continues to show the moronic and hostile atmosphere of your small minded community. late for school? wth does that mean? you know nothing, and it shows.
