Volvo Adding Up To 140 Jobs In Hagerstown, Md.

Sweden's Volvo Group says it's adding up to 140 jobs in Hagerstown in a $30 million expansion of a plant that makes truck engines and transmissions.

The company announced the investment Friday in a joint statement with Maryland Gov. Martin O'Malley and the Washington County Board of Commissioners.

They say the plant will retain 1,340 full-time jobs and add as many as 140.

This means nothing. State "loaned" them 4mil and county $200,000 and it doesn't have to be paid back if they meet the job and investment targets.
Not too mention state and local "tax credits."
It's using tax payer money to create jobs.

Yes but that facility had many more jobs building Mack trucks before they left maryland. Check out tax incentive and funding promises and hope gov can produce them

This will offset the 26,000 permanent job losses we've already had! WOW! 140 jobs!

Big party at my house tomorrow night!
