Troopers Investigate Large Cash Theft From Claymont Church

Resume:
Claymont – Troopers are investigating a felony theft of cash that occurred at the Holy Rosary Church, 3200 Philadelphia Pike, this weekend.

The theft occurred sometime on Saturday, June 1. Money earned on Friday from the church's carnival had been placed in a safe within the church. When a carnival volunteer opened the safe late Saturday afternoon, he found that a large amount of the cash was missing.

Investigating Troopers found no signs of forced entry into the church or the safe. This investigation is ongoing, and Troopers are asking for the public to come forward with information about the theft.
